When I plug it in the computer still makes the "ding dong" sound so it knows that it's been connected, but it isn't bringing it up as a drive. Any idea what's wrong?
A minor illness mighjt be causing it to lose its sex drive. Let it rest a few days and see if things return to normal. If not, take two viagra and head to a mountain cabin.
Speaking from personal experience there, Babs? Still, it shouldn't matter which USB you put it in. The best, easiest shot is to try doing an uninstall and complete reinstall. Hopefully the software will undo its registry mods when you uninstall.
I never installed any software for it. From day one I've just been letting it mount as a drive and copying and pasting the files.
Does the camera work ok, is the memory card ok? It almost sounds like it is unformatted. If it isn't that try this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...b6-e8fa-45c4-a171-1b389cfacdad&DisplayLang=en
I've come to the conclusion that it's because of the virus infecting my d:\ drive (which is my base drive - c:\ is another partition holding another copy of xp which I can alternately boot from) which is impossible to fully root out by either avg or malwarebytes. I'm going to format the entire partition and reinstall xp from the ground up.
Mounting it ? Is that the correct terminology? I've never heard that before. Um... I think most people just say 'my computer stopped recognizing my camera'.
It's kinda dated, it comes from the good ol' days of mounting tapes. It remained when dasd became king.
Sometimes Daddy XPs and Mommy Cameras just don't feel the same way about each other that they used to, little Johnny. But that doesn't mean they love you any less. What? Nobody else got that from 'stopped mounting'?
