Actually, if some cutting edge producer had the creativity to produce a show like that as a DRAMA without staged contrivances like all other reality shows have, it really could work and would be surprisingly successful.... but I don't think the kid or her handlers would want her portrayed as a person with a terminally fouled up life, it wouldn't be flattering.

Sixteen year olds get knocked up all the time. I'd have thought that with her sister being fucked up that this one would have gotten her snatch sewn up until the night before her wedding, but she isn't partying every night of the week like Britney is.

If anything, this reflects a LOT more on Lynn than this girl.

An A for effort but Jamie Lynn is far from upstaging Britney in the train wreck department. In fact this only adds to Britney's infamy. Cuz let's face it, being sixteen and pregnant ain't news. But being Britney's younger sister and pregnant is flat out sensational, outrageous even.

Definitely a reality show with a real lesson. This is the kind of sex-ed early teen kids need, IMO.

Pretty typical for a lot of child-stars and their parents. The kids are the breadwinners, the parents quit their jobs to become their kids "managers," effectively going to work *for* their children. So whatever parental authority they may have once had flies out the window.

The other common factor you overlooked is the absent, uninvolved father. This kind of behavior from young girls is all about trying to replace/substitute that broken "Daddy" relationship.

Not just Spock but a lot of different sources make similar statements. It may not be true in every case but it's definitely worth considering. Also definitely something to note for all of us with daughters of our own.

This girl in particular is no longer a teen. With all her work, she has the lifestyle and responsibilities of an adult. Along with the freedon to get busy.

To the best of our ability, we don't allow or make it easy for our 16 yr old daughter to have the kind of privacy and time for sex with a boyfriend. But still we can only hope for the best cuz kids will try you.

My kid has a boyfriend. We know his parents and he spends time with us. Either with the mom or with me. I take them out sometimes. This type of thing helps to have them as a friend and not someone who has to sneak around. He respects us and we respect him.

So far so good.

I'm saying that its a small factor. In my life I only dated ONE girl who had a father on the scene. That's over 10 women in all the years and they weren't whacked out over it. Some had alternates like a grandfather or favored uncle.

Still parents play a big role. But the kid has to have something in them. I blame this girl solely. She should have realized what her role on TV represents. She should have realized what her career is to her family.

She just plain fell off. She knows when and how she got pregnant and I doubt it was something that happened on the first instance.

I guess this is a case where ya gonna whack the Flashlight a few times to get it to work.
