And this is a surprise to whom, exactly? I genuinely think it has more do with the perception his base has. He's not doing enough, fast enough. They truly believe that he can wave a magic wand and "drain the swamp" simply because he's the President. Couple the desire for instant gratification with his rhetoric about "going to work" and "getting the job done on time and under budget" and you have the current dissatisfaction his base is starting to show. Remember, even the most delusional WF'er is still miles above average when it comes to understanding the power of the President and how government actually functions.
Trump is performing just as bad, if not worse, as any intelligent person predicted a year ago. Are those who voted for him ready to commit seppuku yet? That's really all they have to save their honor.
It very likely is. The building has seen continuous daily use and its last structural renovation was 65 years ago. By all accounts, if the structure had been anything other than the White House, it would have been condemned prior to the Truman Renovation. Based on what I've read in the past, the residence is "quaint." Certainly not palatial. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are smaller. The water is never quite hot enough, etc. It certainly helps having a full-time facilities and maintenance crew. But, even then, putting 36 coats of gloss white paint over a rotted board doesn't mean the board isn't rotted.
Well, not to anybody who's been paying attention and is a reasonably good judge of character. It does however run counter to the persona most of his supporters attribute to him.
The last thing I want is a Trump renovation of the white house. Have you seen pictures of his apartment in Trump Tower? It is done in African peasant turned dictator style only with less taste.
https://www.google.com/amp/amp.usatoday.com/story/539536001/ Newsweek cover calls Trump a lazy boy king. Talks about how he really is lazy with now work ethic, no idea how government works, and who constantly undermines his own party's agenda with his undisciplined distractions. No wonder he has no legislative accomplishments to speak of. Seriously, watching tv for 6-8 hours a day and daily games of golf does not count as working nor do 17 day vacations.
Nah. It takes a special sort of mental illness to not believe Trump Jr had a meeting he openly admits to having, and a majority of Republicans appear to be suffering from it. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ppened-despite-son-admitting-it-a7847636.html
That is just typical of them. Remember how in 2007 something like 40% claimed they believed WMDs were found in Iraq after everyone, including Bush himself, publicly said no WMDs were found? Seriously, 2014 those dumb asses were still claiming we found chemical weapons and I was still linking to videos of Bush saying no chemical weapons were ever found yet they would claim the video of Bush saying no chemical weapons were found was some how fake. We are talking about people completely disconnected from facts and reality. The same people who kept claiming Obama's birth certificate was fake.
Technically, old chemical weapons were found in Iraq. It was just not the ehemical weapons that the Bush Administration had been led to believe or indicated they expected to find.
They weren't WMD. They were a few mortars with degraded chlorine gas from the Iraq-Iran war that had been buried for decades. That's why the WMD report concluded there were no WMD nor the capability to create WMD. The chorine mortars were in the appendix of the report as 'other findings'.
here's my take on Iraq having chemical weapons. Being there in 2003 (when the shit hit the fan) I trusted my gut and knew that if (big if) they had any chemical weapons that shit was long gone.....taken to Syria before we ever got there. So whenever we were told to don our chemical warfare protection I was the very last fucker to protect themselves. I knew there was zero chance of even a drop of any chemical warfare ever being used against the US military.
Patience, Anc. He can't solve everything at once. He has counter-signaled sanctuary cities pretty hard already. They'll solve the problem.
I always look at the "strongly support" number and that's down in the low 20's in every report I've seen. Basically there's about a quarter of the electorate who's fanatical, and nothing rational is going to matter. But you can't govern, lead a party, or get re-elected on that. His opposition ought to not worry about the last 20-25% but try to grow the number of "strongly disapprove" solidly over 50% Also, not specifically about Trump alone but there's some interesting stuff here: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2477
Trump's one strength is marketing. His whole career he's gotten by with overselling something and then managing to escape with his reputation intact (beyond those he just fucked in the given deal) He badly oversold in the campaign per his usual style - but now he's trapped and can't just"file bankruptcy" and slither out of it.
that whole "special kind of stupid" they've been discussing? That trait is manifest in neon shades when one pimps the bullshit "sanctuary cities will doom us all" trope. You lot (assuming you actually believe the shit you post which is by no means certain) are astonishingly gullible when the right dog whistle is blown.
I don't think anyone believes sanctuary cities will doom us all but it is certainly bad policy and all levels of government should place enforcing the laws pretty high up the list of things to do. Yes, it means illegals need to be shown no mercy and they need to be given the boot. Repeat offenders should face extremely harsh penalties up to and including execution. No more revolving doors where Juan gets deported for the 20th time of Weds and is back across the border by Sunday and back to gang banging as if nothing happened.
Oh come on. You know full well you can't execute someone for being here illegally anymore than a homeowner can shoot someone dead for trespassing in their yard repeatedly. What's wrong with you Dinner? But you are right about sanctuary cities.
