I saw all that Penn State hatin' and I'm amazed. Right now, I think Penn State should be #3, but if Alabama or Texas lose and Penn State runs the table, they should play for the champsionship. There should be :mob: if they get overlooked.

Georgia put up 52 on LSU. Anyone else think that was some kind of message to Florida? They could only put up 51!

Jacksonville's gonna be a parking lot next weekend.

Did you see the Tech game? Our defense looked solid. That 3rd TD we gave up was when we had the back up defense playing. After the first 2 drives we completely shut down KU for the rest of the game... at least until it was so far over we had practice squad guys out there. Their numbers were strictly based on number of touches. When Tech scores 9 touchdowns on you and your offense is out on the field constantly you are bound to rack up some yards.

The rest of our season(besides the 2nd half of the A&M game) our D has looked like shit, but yesterday they looked outstanding. It makes me feel better going into this next 3 game stretch. I think we'll get at least one of the three wins, maybe even 2 of the 3. And if we run the table Penn State damn well better not get our spot in the title game. I can just picture Bama, Penn St, and Tech all being undefeated at the end of the season and us losing our one shot ever at seeing a title... (of course this is all just a pipe dream because realistically I don't think we can expect to win all 3 of the remaining difficult games on our schedule)

Tech's D looked . . . decent. They didn't look awesome or even good to me. The game started out like a track meet. That didn't change until Kansas started turning the ball over. Then Tech jumped out to a nice lead and Kansas fell apart. Tech did a good job of providing some pass rush, and the defense was playing with a lot of intensity, but they are not a good defense.

I think you're using a different standard. The Big XII used to have dominant defenses. Now even the talented teams like Texas and OU give up huge chunks of yardage in most of their games. Right now, offense is king. I blame Leach.

For what, having four of the Big XII South in the top ten? True, the standard has changed, apparently smothering defenses are a thing of the past for the time being. On a day when literally hundreds of points were scored in the league, two of it's top teams met and held each other to 52 points over all, aside from each team putting up almost 500 yards. So are you actually commenting on the weakness of the North.

We'll all be judged against the best in the league, the Sooners failed to contain Texas, yet the Pokes held Texas to 28, honestly I'll be surprised if Tech's defense can do the same.

What will be really interesting is the bowl games. Assuming that the top two teams go BCS, along with the Cotton and Holiday Bowls, we ought to have some good matchups that will tell us a lot about our easy scoring spread offenses vs the SEC, Little 10 and [-]Pac 10[/-] USC.

Sorry Tex, but I don't Tech beating the Longhorns, even at home. KU has been overrated all season, just like they were last year. The Manginas lose to every ranked team they face, so this week's win against them doesn't really prove much. Now, the Nebraska game a couple weeks back says something...it says that Tech's D isn't "all that and a bag of chips". I predict that Texas will beat Texas Tech worse than they beat OU, but not as badly as they thumped Mizzou...maybe.

I'm not claiming our D is great, I just said they looked good yesterday. Ash's aggie hatred of Tech is blinding him from that fact. We forced those turn overs, KU falling apart was a result of the actions of the Tech D combined with an offense that scored every single time they touched the ball.

Yeah, I don't think that's it. A&M's offense is as pass happy as everyone else in the Big XII. Jerrod Johnson went for over 380 and 4 TD's on Saturday. He also has a 400 yrd game this year, and we have a freshman receiver who has posted a 200 yrd game as well. A&M's skill positions on offense are stacked with talent. The big difference is that our line can't hold Tech's jock and that causes inconsistency. Also, as bad as other Big XII defenses are, A&M's defense is on a whole new level of suck. We have now forced 2 punts in the past 3 games. Think about that. That statistic is amazing in it's futility.

Pokes 52, Cyclones 10, start of the fourth. I'm glad we play our bad games against bad teams, at least so far.

Congratulations, Raiders! That was one hell of a game!

I'm glad they won because if they hadn't I would have been furious with the refs.

That 'offensive pass interference' against Crabtree at first and goal was just completely ludicrous, and could have been the difference in the game.

    Luckily it wasn't.

There is nothing better than watching your team beat the #1 team in the country when it gives you a shot at the title while getting a blowjob from a girl who liked your halloween costume the night before. (true story)

I saw nothing from last night that would lead me to believe that the Red Roosters are going to beat OU in two weeks. The Longhorns had the game won, and only a brain fart by those two defenders who inexplicably forgot to push the Tech guy 2 inches out of bounds led to the loss. Once the Longhorns stopped sleepwalking, they were clearly the better team.

Red Roosters needed overtime to defeat a pathetic Nebraska squad that OU took a huge dump on last night.

Roosters will beat the Cowgirls next week - hyped by their home crowd, it's too difficult to stop the gimmick-driven offense. But in Norman? Kiss those national championship dreams goodbye Roosters.

LOL Flashy, you're the best. We owned tu that whole damn game, we started to blow it but managed to hold it together. OSU is going down, Pickens can't buy a win in Lubbock. I agree that we are set up for OU to get the ultimate revenge on us, but I don't think you guys have the players this year.

Fuck it, I think I'm still drunk.

I haven't seen anything that tells me that Oklahoma is clearly the better team. They lost by 10 to Texas, right?

But I think there's several excellent teams in the Big 12 that are all near each other.

And Texas Tech has the worst schedule of any of the remaining contenders.

But the Big-12 is up in the air right now, and I'd put it about even for all the major contenders.

The Big-12 South is just BADASS this year.

The hilarious thing about OU is they have become Texas Tech.

All offense, little running game, weak defense... It's now Tech that has as balanced attack and a hard hitting defense.

Enjoy the after glow Raider, I doubt you're the only one. The question now is how Texas Tech will handle the national media spotlight that will descend upon Lubbock after this win.

It's a good thing Harrell is a modest, well rounded kid and not a cocky asshole (and whiny when he loses), or things might go to his head. :bergman:

I had to bust out the Mike Leach shrine... it only comes out when we need him... right now it's 4-0. I light a candle for every score we need, last night there was only the 1. As posted in previous year's football threads, it started with the biggest come back in bowl game history. I may be in Lubbock next week so the team will have to do it without the shrine, but it will be there for Norman.

Oh ya, and Mike loves Vodka, so he gets a shot of Goose which I help him enjoy after the wins. :D :drunkfriends:
