Meh. Winners don't let the other team drive the length of the field with time ticking down in the half. I'm sick and god damn tired of seeing other teams convert on third and long. If they can't stop Oklahoma under those circumstances, they'll end up with yet another moral victory. The time is long past that State should be satisfied with that. They could have--should have--been up a score. They have only themselves to blame. Fuck moral victories. Those were good enough ten years ago. Winners find a way to win. If O-State's offensive line doesn't start protecting Robinson better he'll wear down before the fourth quarter.

    Not encouraging.

The Big XII is easily the best conference in College Football this year. :salute:

Yes, they certainly did, but they can't seem to get over the 10 win hurdle. It's discouragaing because this particular game was more than getting a chance to beat Oklahoma. Much more. When they couldn't stop OU from scoring again in the last minute of the first half I knew it was over. That's why I was so discouraged. State always seem to be an eyelash away from becoming one of the elites, but as a team you have to cross that threshold under your own power. You can't depend on another team making mistakes, and I knew good and well that Bradford wasn't going to make one under pressure. It had to be OU's defense that would break, but they held on.

Congratulations to the Sooners. I hope that this year you can keep your intensity over the month long break to your bowl. I'll be very surprised if you aren't playing Florida in the title game. Enjoy Bradford while you can. He's long gone after this year. Sam'll be the first pick in the draft. His parents want him to finish his degree, but he can do that later. The NFL is going to throw a shit load of money at him.

Watching the game wasn't nearly as difficult as listening to Muckburger and Capt. Kirk Crabstreet shamelessly campaign for Texas for three straight hours. The ESPN crowd's hatred for OU is laughable. They couldn't have cared less what was happening on the field, their only agenda was trying to convince voters to love the Longhorns. :dayton:

OSU gave the Sooners their best shot. But trading TD's with an offense as powerful as OU's just isn't going to get the job done. The OSU defense needed to step up and make some plays, just like they needed to do against the Red Roosters. But they couldn't. The OU offense moved the ball at will.

The OU defense wasn't much better, giving up big plays and plenty of points. But we also had the OSU QB running for his life on play after play (of course, he's a very good scrambler, so that was often bad for us). Of course, you have to keep in mind that the Big 12 is loaded with great offenses, veteran QB's, gigantic offensive lines.....to think that any defense is going to stop these teams week after week is stupid.

In the end, this OSU team is like the other good OSU teams that the school has been able to field intermittenly through the years. They can beat everyone else, they can get 1-2 quality wins (such as beating Mizzou in Columbia), but they're just not able to get over that hump and get a victory against the big boys (Texas, Texas Tech, OU). That's OSU pattern - good, but just not quite good enough.

Considering seven wins was about that was expected this year, they did fine. Next year much more will be expected of them, and rightfully so.

Besides, we're the North champs.

Next year may very well be the year that OSU rules the world. And if they do, I'll break out my Pistol Pete shirt and morph into a Cowboy fan. :tasvir:

Oh, and the wheels came off the Mizzou season yesterday. That's bad for whoever plays them in the Big 12 championship, since it will diminish the quality of a victory over the Tigers. Talk about a season of missed opportunities, that was Mizzou. But they just weren't as good as they were last year. I was a loyal Tiger though, I ordered a Mizzou-KSU "blackout" t-shirt!

    Awesome game to watch.

There were several times that I just cringed because gundy had so long to plan his offensive drive. Not to mention Robinson's ability to scramble. Little bitch. :garamet: :D

Who knew that Bradford was a gymnast? :wtf:

That front flip was pretty bad ass. I had to give him some respect for that one. He was making a pretty solid case for the Heisman. Just don't go embarrass the conference again this year. (I say that like I'll actually be pulling for OU) Go Gaters, Chomp.

Don't worry, against Florida I'm sure we will. :jayzus: IFwe are #2 at that point.

We could very well lose to Mizzo. :cringe:

As much of a Mizzou fan as I am...I just don't see that happening. Can't even beat miserable KU...WTF? The Tigers have minimal pass defense, and everyone knows it. Chase Daniel is fine against standard or even good competition, but falls apart against elite opponents.
