OU was flat out dominant tonight. Best team in the nation, though? We'll see what Florida has to say about that. I do think it would be a travesty if OU didn't jump Texas in the BCS rankings. They should be number 3 come Monday.
You were right, I was wrong. You’re smart, I’m dumb. You’re good looking, I’m… not… attractive... Flashy, what can I say about Tech's defense that hasn't already been said about the country of Afghanistan... I'm not drunk at all, I can take my losses like a man, it happens. Go Cowboys.
What the fuck happened to your raiders, Tex? Oh, I hope the Sooners roll into Stillwater all nice and arrogant and high as a kite. That kind of intensity is notoriously difficult to sustain. Seriously, though, why does OU deserve to jump Texas? Same record. Texas beat OU. Texas lost to Tech on the road while OU had the luxury of playing them at home. It's not Texas' fault that the schedule had them playing the harder teams earlier. Texas remains above OU in the BCS ratings. If the situation were the reverse, I'd be saying OU deserves it. They don't.
Why doesn't Tech remain above Texas then? They beat them head to head and they both have one loss. It's not Tech's fault they had to play OU late in the season when OU was hitting their stride. Your argument is pointless. Everyone has one loss which means someone has to be ranked above someone they lost to. In my opinion, the best team in the Big XII is OU. They should be at the top.
Just announced, OU is #3 in the new BCS standings. OU now controls it's own destiny. Beat OSU, beat Mizzou, and OU will play either Alabama or Florida for BCS immortality.
OU needs to win convincingly to assure themselves the South championship. Texas will mostly likely rape A&M and they'll be looking for style points. OSU is the better opponent, but a close game could hurt.
In the extremely unlikely scenario that the following occurs, could OU play Texas for the National Championship: Auburn beats Bama this weekend Bama beats Florida in the SEC title game OU and Texas win out (this will probably happen, just not both of the other 2)
Dear sweet 9 pound 8 ounce baby football lovin' Jesus, please let my OSU Cowboys have their best game ever, also please let the Texas A&M Aggies play like a legitimate college football, Big 12 South team and strike down the heathens from Austin and Norman. Also baby Jesus it would be cool too if Florida State and Auburn could win this weekend as well. Thanks for listening, Tex
A pedestrian, unimpressive effort from the Longhorns. Everybody knew it was going to be a blowout, the only thing that mattered was whether Texas could rack up some style points. At the end of 3 quarters, they were only ahead 28-3. OU was ahead of A&M 21-0 by the end of the first quarter, and they were in College Station. Only in the fourth quarter did Mack Brown seem to remember, "oh yeah, we need to run up the score a little bit." Where does Texas's blowout rank amongst the other blowout losses A&M has suffered this season? They gave up: 41 to Miami, FL, a weak opponent 56 to OSU 44 to Kansas freakin' State, a team that couldn't beat my high school's JV squad 43 to Texas Tech 66 to OU, in the season's biggest blowout loss And finally, they gave up 41 to Baylor. Suddenly a 49-9 loss on the road to the alleged #2 team in the nation, on Thanksgiving, when Texas has the national spotlight and knows they need to run up the score, doesn't look all that impressive. If OU wins today, by any margin, they leapfrog Texas into the #2 position.
Pedestrian? They beat them by 40 points. I know A&M sucks, but realistically how much can you beat a team by and keep the adrenaline flowing? OU hasn't had a real quality road win either. If they beat State, that'll be the best road win in the conference this season--period. By anybody in the conference. OSU had a pretty decent win against a semi tough Mizzou team on the road. Texas' road wins are very so so. It's all very close in the computer. Bottom line, Texas and OU each have one loss--OU's on a neutral site, Texas' on the road. Then OU beat Tech, but they did it at home. This weekend will tell the story....and everyone will be rooting for O-State. You know the Longhorns will, and so will the Raiders for that matter. Tech gets to the big 12 championship game courtesy of an OSU win, and Texas of course edges out OSU for a BCS bowl bid.
You're on crack, laced with embalming fluid. Are you actually going to attempt to argue that the OU-Texas game is on a "neutral" field? The only thing OSU and Tech can do is play the role of spoiler. That's a loser's game. OU is on track for yet another national title game, but the bitterly jealous OSU contingent wants to derail it. Pretty typical of the mindset of most OSU fans.
I want ten wins and the Cotton Bowl, that fact that number ten might come against OU honestly isn't that big of deal to me. To be fair, I'd rather beat Texas at this point.
I haven't seen anything out of OSU that would indicate they will beat OU. I want OSU to win just so Stoops can avoid the embarassment of getting beaten by Florida. And lastly, OU lost to Texas on a neutral field.
We were struggling before he left, we got it together after he was gone. Although I think those 2 things are quite mutually exclusive.
11-1 LOL @ Leach's post game interview... "I want to wish the best of luck to Oklahoma State and Mike Gundy, I'm 47 years old and I'm still not a man."
Alabama is taking Auburn to the woodshed - sorry guys. Florida is roughing up Florida State. It's all about next week with these two. The BCS #1 and 2 may swap after the SEC Championship game but unless something radical happens, they should just call it the national championship game and let the kids have that much more celebration time.
I think OU could hang with either one of them, so lets not declare it a National Championship just yet. Either Texas or OU will probably get their shot.
I want OSU to win all their games. That includes OU, which would ruin their national championship chances this year. So? Tough shit. I sure as hell am not going to root for State to lose just so OU can go play in the national title game and lose to Florida. Yes, I'm a horrible person. I feel so guilty inside for rooting for my team. Get over yourself, flashlight. Yes. Because it is. Same way the computers see it. If Texas enjoyed the intangibles that made it a home field advantage, TPTB at OU would have taken advantage of the opportunity to make it home and home. Laugh all you want. The BCS computers score it as a neutral field.
Smooth move, Robinson. Smooth. Your defense holds, so you decide to give one away. Your toes are going to hurt like a bitch by the end of the night if you keep that up.
