Just as long as you state you don't want thread moved to the RR in the OP it can remain in the GR. I don't see why the mods have to get any further involved in the matter than that.

I for one look forward to seeing the Help Desk take on a M.A. like feel, filled with threads saying poster X is being intentionally disruptive in TNZ 2.0 errr The Green Room because he's being too right wing/loving guns too much/showing inappropriate joy over a military flattening of terrorists/etc, etc.

I doubt that, actually. There are plenty of forums on WordForge that have moderation similar to the Green Room, without that being the result. WordForge has never had the rule that unpopular opinions are trolling.

Besides, my guess is that the volume of Green Room threads on those kinds of topics will always be fairly small. The Red Room is not popular only because those kinds of topics are popular, but because the Red Room style is popular.

That said, I'm still enough of a libertarian to defend the idea of people having a choice. If there are Green Room threads on subjects that interest me, I'll even participate in them. And if there aren't, well, having the possibility doesn't actually take anything away from the Red Room.

After giving it some more thought, I don't know if the Green Room with Red Room topics is a good idea. It will take more refereeing from the mods - that you can bet on. Still, it's worth a try, and if the mods are willing to go for it, c'est la vie.

And here we have proof of my theory that some posters really came here to hang out with the cool kids and try to gain acceptance and cares nothing for the spirit in which WF was founded. The old TNZ was a tough place to post. No one was ever coddled until the very end, and that's why we all left. I guess some of those people wanting to reform TNZ followed us here, and now we're going through the same song and dance.

If Sokar axes the bullying signature and if he and his cadre stop trying to derail all threads where an opinion they don't like is expressed and stop trying to drive posters away from the board, I'm happy to just thoroughly ignore them rather than engage. For a while, on TBBS, there were "TNZ" type subjects allowed in Misc, with Misc rules. It actually worked quite well. What put an end to it was not that it caused problems in Misc, but that it was decided to mod TNZ with the same rules as Misc, so that such subjects no longer had any reason to be in Misc.

There weren't many of them, which is part of why I don't expect there will be many of them here, but they did not cause any disruption.

Staff will not be playing referee in any potential Green Room political threads. We'll be making sure the rules of the forum are enforced, which are basically "no flaming/trolling". You want to call someone a poopie-head because they express an opinion contrary to yours, that's the Red Room. You want to have an actual conversation or debate on a topic without being called a poopie-head, that's the Green Room. One's civil, one's no-holds-barred. Simple enough?

The point is that there are lots of thread in the RR where people are having 'actual conversations.'
