Games can be bought on Steam then given to another user. It's quite popular here in situations like this for people to send money to friends overseas, get them to purchase the game on Steam and then gift it back.
Dear Chris, Yes, people are still talking about this. Considering the game comes out 11-10-09, folks will continue to talk about it. If you are truly surprised, then ok. If you're not, and are trying to be cute, coy, or witty, you're failing.
Russia makes sense... Seeing as how Makarov is a Russian Ultranationalist. ... but innocent people are innocent people regardless of where they are from. The whole idea of the gamer performing an act of terrorism is to provide you with a sense of purpose for the rest of the game.
Wow! The PC version of these games had a lot more capability than the console version. I just don't know if I could get into playing a game at my computer on a 19"-22" monitor vs. playing it on a comfortable couch in front of my HDTV.
This game, yes, seems like they have pretty much gimped the PC version to be just as lame as the console version. Also, playing with a nice screen at ~2 feet away is LOT nicer than ~10 feet away in your living room. Just watch the next time you see people playing an intense game in their living room... the'll be hunched over and leaning WAAAY forward. Also, gamepad = lol. Also, no matter what platform you are on, if you are only gonna get one game in the near future, you should get borderlands over this, no contest.
New Video!!! And possibly the last until it's release in a few days: [YT="MW2 Launch Trailer"]429l13dS6kQ[/YT] The graphics look better with each trailer.
I'm ashamed. I was gonna go buy last night, but I didn't. You see, I went to the gym and was too tired when I got done. :'(
I got mine last night at 12:24 AM.... Started playing at about 1:30 AM and finished the single player campaign at 9:09 AM. I've earned about 25% of the trophies. I checked out Spec Ops and did some competitive multiplayer after a nap, and took another nap and now I'm here. The story here was awesome. My favorite with regards to any video game to date. Some of the more difficult levels in the game were the ones in the favellas of Brazil and the ones where the Russians invaded northern Virginia and Washington D.C. Some of the battles in that one looked like they were on the block where I live. It was really sweet.
Beat the game in a little over 4 hours. It's fantastic, but too short. There is no doubt in my money they have multiple downloads in final beta. Way. Too. Short.
Yes... There were 18 levels, but somehow, I was left feeling a little short-changed. I was expecting Sgt. Foley and the 75th Batillion to attack Moscow as a climax... and what's up with Infinity Ward? Why do these games focus so heavily on the British Special Air Service? After COD4's most enjoyable missions and climax were SAS ops, I would have liked to see a climax involving US Forces. Instead, we get a traitor.
Well, technically towards the end of CoD4 one of the Force Recon Marines joins the SAS group, so it's a joint task force I just finished the "Wolverines!" chapter in the MW2 single-player, and so far I'm loving it.
There were a few contrived moments, but all in all, it's a great game with a great story. I did have to roll my eyes when I was ordered to defend the Burger Stop.
