    1. Some people actually like Star Trek. TBBS has a bunch of good forums about it.

    2. People who get banned from there can't believe the hypocrisy of the leftist mods/admins.

I think it was at spacebattles.com where before I was banned for being unsympathetic to suicidal homosexuals that I was told there that

    1) If you start a thread but don't post in it very often, then they can consider that a "troll thread".
    2) If you start a thread and post in it too often, then they can consider those posts to be trolling.

In other words, if they don't like you they'll find a way to stick it to you.

Of course spacebattles.com has lots of European members and they won't tolerate anything unless you're constantly bashing the United States.

Yeah, I left tbbs because of mod hypocracy. I got banned for a day for typing a sentence in 1337 5p34k, which triggered a mod.

I only signed up there because people here kept talking about it. I posted a few times, found the place sucked, and never went back.

You should write your local congressman.

That actually enhanced my enjoyment of the show.

This idiot thread is exactly why Lanz and Tamar gutted the Gray Room, BTW. So that we aren't a beacon for every Neutered Zone Reject who thinks being an asshole will give them the red carpet treatment here. :dayton:

So what do you think were the odds that a version that you liked would be aired if it hadn't been for the reboot?

Had it not been for the 9-11 attacks my preferred version (or something close to it) of Battlestar: Galactica would probably have aired. They were already building sets for it.

    But 9/11 did happen.

There was an interesting thread over a period of at least a year, when a young feller of 19 years old decided to see what this Star Trek thing was all about. He watched every series in the order it was made. His reviews and reactions were very entertaining and sparked some good conversation. His basic reactions, IIRC, were: TOS - lots of really great stuff, some stinkers. TNG - Preachy, outdated, some good, lots of crap. DS9 - Mostly Wow! Vger - what were they thinking?? Ent - What the fuck is this crap???
