I couldn't find a thread on this but it's surprisingly easy to get banned from TrekBBS. I just did again.
King Daniel had to bring up Nazis in the White House in a perfectly good thread. I had to say something. The thread was "Where did all the future tech come from?" in the Discovery forum.
True, but the byzantine speech codes, speech restriction/suppression by snowflake libtards via use of nonstop bannings, the arbitrary rules.....all this and more makes the place useless.
There are a couple of very clever mods there who like to stir shit in the other forums and then turn around and issue warnings or bannings when the other person responds back in more "forceful" language. I've already seen at least five people leave in the Discovery forums over it. All of them newer people who were just there to talk about the show.
A shitty website dedicated to Star Trek run by leftist mods who run off or ban anyone who doesn't conform to the hive mind.
I can't believe that 13 years later, people are still: 1. Attempting to participate at TBBS 2. Complaining about the chronically shitty administrators and the dumbfuck way they operate the site TBBS should have died at least 10 years ago. Instead it shambles on, like a wight from GoT.
I understand that WF has its roots in Tbbs, but I don’t understand why any of ya’ll still care about it.
I'm not even banned from there but its been years since I've visited. There is actually too much activity for my liking. Threads are pages and pages long. I ain't got time for that shit! That would kill my whole day trying to read thru all that and sift thru the worthwhile comments. WF is more manageable. Less threads and less posters, but a good variety of opinions and debates regardless. Also people can say whatever they want here. It's more entertaining that way!
I still care because to this day I believe I was treated very badly by moderators/administrators there. What they actually said once (posted on the forum itself) regarding me was clear evidence of this. I was complaining about being flamed and insulted repeatedly outside The Neutral Zone and their failure to take action. One of the bigshots there actually posted "We're not going to hand out warnings and bans to members we like to protect a member we hate".
I'm still there every day, but only talking about the shows and hanging around the Trek Art forum. I don't get controversial, avoid arguments, and stay the total fuck away from TNZ. I still end up with an occasional warning for something I thought was funny, but what the hell.
They really seemed irritated about that though they never sited that as a reason. I suppose one could argue that set them off and made them more hostile to me overall. Though to be fair, most people on TrekBBS had been overly hostile to me for a long time for some reason. Long before Hurricane Katrina. Long before I said one of my goals was to ruin peoples enjoyment of nuBattlestar: Galactica because I didn't like the show and as long as it was on the air a version of Battlestar that I liked would never be made. I do not understand (really) why that was controversial either. On the other hand at least no one on the TrekBBS ever contacted my employer as someone from Wordforge did.
