For licensing, require training and tests on par at least with those required in Germany to get a fucking fishing license.

1) eliminate semi-automatic weapons? That would leave only lever, pump action & bolt action guns. Oh and revolvers for the handgun users. You are aware that some criminals prefer revolvers because the casings stay in the gun versus fall onto the street/floor where they are evidence, right?
2) you actually want tracking by race for gun purchases? words fail me
3) I had a fucking fishing license in Germany. Being military I was allowed to attend the abbreviated fishing course with only a 20 percent failure rate on the final test. The Germans have to take the full meal deal training (equivalent to an associate degree) with a 70 percent failure rate on the final test, which is only given once a year.
4) why just guns hero? Why not follow German laws for getting a drivers license too? About 3,000 dollars worth of training later I bet you end up hitch-hiking or riding a bus because you fail the test. BTW the military had an abbreviated version driver training/testing too which I'm sure pissed them off - but welcome to the Status Of Forces Agreement bitches.
