How to easily win a reelection during a crisis, do something good to placate the protesters, do something good to deal with the pandemic, come across as a uniter , show some empathy, deescalate the sitiation and propose legislation to deal with police brutality. If I can figure that out and I'm a "high school freshman" according to the board's most grumpiest old man, then he should be able to figure it out as well. I know he won't, but the solutions are right in front of his face.
Donnie-boy is a moronic sociopath who treats the Presidency like a reality show. His entire m.o. since his slumlord days has been to walk away from any challenge and leave a trail of debris in his wake. A normal person would understand and agree with everything you've posted. We're not talking "normal" here. And his few surviving staff members are too cowed to do anything.
There's a rumor going around that the Mayor of Portland got gassed at a protest last night. Developing.
Okay, so, did something happen involving the mayor of Portland? The posts in this thread aren't being very clear.
Did Feds Overstep in Portland? A Watchdog Will Take a Look Inspector general of the Justice Department announces investigation The mayor got tear-gassed. Protesters described being manhandled and whisked away by camo-clad men in vans. Now a government watchdog is going to investigate whether the actions of federal officers during Portland's protests have gone too far, reports the Washington Post. Coverage: Michael Horowitz, inspector general of the Justice Department, announced the investigation on Thursday. The inspector general operates independently of Attorney General William Barr. The probe will be coordinated with the IG of the Department of Homeland Security, reports USA Today. The primary focus will be the officers' use of force in Portland, per Law & Crime, but the investigation will look at other incidents as well, including the clearing of protesters near the White House on June 1 to make way for a photo op by President Trump.
Get back to me when they have actual results and trump and his criminal gang are behind bars. Otherwise ...
I haven’t finished but a good listen. I didn’t realize that DHS has almost no Senate confirmed leadership. https://www.lawfareblog.com/lawfare...gence-activities-department-homeland-security
Jesus Christ. https://www.dhs.gov/leadership No wonder they are Trump’s attack dogs. Almost everyone there is ‘Acting’ or ‘Performing Duties of’ meaning their only criteria is loyalty to Trump.
Take a look at the Trump org chart. MOST of our senior executives are “acting” in their roles. I’m sure it’s all fine though.
Fox News is running a full court press supporting the actions of “troops” in Portland and other cities. They had the minority leader of the Oregon House on just now and he’s blaming it all on the Governor and Mayor being weak. Edit: Yes, the Fox Anchor and Oregon Minority Leader never used to word “Police” or “Law Enforcement.” It was “Troops.”
Just for fun, I posted this on the Facebook page where rightforge is hiding out lately. Dinner had an opinion:
Lots of bootlickers on TK as well, but if they don't think their opinions are worthwhile enough to post here then I don't think they're worth discussing too much.
