Only two states have no mask mandates of any kind: Iowa and South Dakota. Neither state has much in the way of high density areas where people are packed in like sardines.
‘Any kind’ is doing a lot of work in that statement. You also failed to explain the reason the FedGov shouldn’t step in. Lastly: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/south-...sti-noem-shuns-stay-at-home-order-2020-04-15/ https://apnews.com/85a02d9296053980ea47eba97f920707
I did explain the reason why the Fed Gov shouldn't step in. You just didn't like the answer. Coronavirus: As California passes New York in total cases, San Francisco health official warns of ‘NY-like situation’ Washington reports 884 new COVID-19 cases, 30 deaths Tuesday
So Trump is now trying the cancel elections, but I'm sure Jenee, UA and Tererun all think refusing to elect Biden is the moral choice.
Don't forget Amaris. Seriously, "accuse your enemy of your own weaknesses" has been the Republican strategy for every election since at least 2000, and yet some people still fall for it.
To be fair (and mainly to avoid that discussion again), I don't think Jenee was saying she would not vote for Biden. Just that no one should tell her to.
That's the syndrome I mentioned in another thread. Does anyone know whether there's an official DSM-5 designation for it, or is it just a sub-topic under Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
Amaris to their credit is a no-bullshit anarcho-communist who's willing to put the effort into making that a reality. They also have personal reasons for their disgust with Biden that I'm not at liberty to share. But most of the other smooth brained "progressives" can't see past their own white bubbles of soy lattes and hipster lifestyles to realize they won't be impacted by a Trump dictatorship. The ones with money will fly to Canada and Europe when shit hits the fan, leaving black and brown people to clean up the mess yet again. If people want to sit out the election, I hope they're planning to arm up against the government and push for secession in their respective states, because it's very likely going to come down to that.
Correct and she said this multiple times, but the usual jackasses chose to ignore it because they just can't stop dog piling on people with their "wisdom."
Oh, he's being fake-moral in this thread too? It's a sudden bug he's got up his ass. Hey, TR, did Jesus talk to you in a dream or something? Did he show you a movie of what an asshole you've been all your life? What gives?
Meh. I unfriended her after some of the insults she lobbed my way got too personal, but unless she's building a secret nuclear arsenal in her basement, none of those mutual aid efforts or whatnot are going to be worth a damn against a second term Trump with full control of the military, a secondary army of CBP, DHS, and private contractors, and a fully stacked judiciary/RBG-less supreme court.
As @T.R plays "Gotcha" with the COVID-19 stats out of California, the people in his own state continue to suffer from his governor's stupidity: For Third Day in a Row, Florida Sets Unwanted Record State reports 256 more deaths on Thursday
I don't know if there's a specific term for it, but it's closely related to the phenomenon known as "projection" in psychology, which produces in many (most?) people a marked tendency to evaluate others in terms of their own person. Did you ever wonder why Jimmy Carter's biggest failing as president was that he was too naive and expected that others (including Russia and Iran) would be honest and forthcoming in what they told him? Or why Richard Nixon was almost paranoid because he thought so many people were plotting against him? It's not just a "Republican/Democratic" thing, nor is it confined to any other demographic factor. It's part of being human, and flows directly from the fact that we have direct access to only one mind (our own) so we tend to assume that other minds work in similar ways. It requires conscious thought and careful evaluation to overcome it. Honest people have to get burned a number of times before they realize that lots of others are dishonest. Dishonest people have a hard time believing anyone is actually honest. It is only when you have had your nose rubbed in enough data that you can face up to the probability that others are not like you. And even then, most of us tend to do that only in those areas where we have been confronted with the contrary data often enough. Projection is an important psychological factor in understanding how people interact.
Don't worry, there is plenty of time before the election to do that, and then four years of blaming you for electing rapey racist joe. I get that trump is just as bad, but shit is shit.
You seem in possession of knowledge the general public doesn't have (as well as @Amaris, last seen July 18) and shockingly lacking in words. If you don't cough it up then I blame you. And no, trump is worse. I think Joe is a good man and is what the country needs to steer away from fascism. No he's not great, but he's electable. Convince me otherwise, please?
I'm concerned they're falling for GOP and russian talking points. We've got Amaris saying creepy. T too, but she adds prejudiced. He was Obama's VP fer chrissakes.
Either that, or she'll tag in Tererun, who'll go on for 5 paragraphs saying if you vote Biden, you're made of boiling diarrhea made of microscopic Hitlers.
"Projection" works. Projection Syndrome? IMO it's much more common online, the old "you're just pixels on a screen" concept. Sidebar: IMO the biggest lie in the English language is, "You can't fool an honest wo/man." Honest people are the most easily fooled because they expect honesty to be everyone else's default position. Q.v. Franken's "joke" article about Tom Cotton and the Holocaust. Following Cotton's remarks about slavery, it was easy for a lot of really intelligent people to fall for that one.
As a gentle reminder, people can work with black folks and still hold prejudices and other outdated ideals With that said, it really shouldn't be any contest between Biden and Trump. If you're an anarchist who wants to die in glorious battle, sit home and you'll get your wish. If not, vote Biden and primary him with your progressive unicorn of choice. It ain't hard.
