The fact of the matter is a lot of people allegedly plugged their noses 4 years ago because they wanted their tax cuts or anti-abortion court picks or whatever. And anyone who wants to be rid of Trump without a violent insurgency is going to need to plug their noses to get their health care and some semblance of control over corona. RBG isn't gonna live forever.

I'm not unsympathetic to rape survivors who can't stomach the thought of supporting him, but that's not the majority of the "Biden is corrupt and just as bad as Trump!" folks.

I used to be part of Rightforge proper, too. I don’t actually think I’ve moved that far - definitely a lot less authoritarian, and anti-interventionist, but that was in like 2004-2006 - but I’ve certainly got a lot more evidence-based and incrementalist since. And the center has unquestionably lurched rightward and stupid-ward, dragged by the right. I’m really glad I found libertarianism when I did. Might have gotten stuck as an authority-worshipping conservative if I hadn’t. I could have ended up a Trumper.

 

I actually have to apologize to you. I really thought there was not so much blind devotion to the dem party on leftforge. Normally I find the sort of dem bootlickers to be generally derided in political discussion forums so they do not speak up much. I used to be a low info dem supporter, but this shit does not fly very long on real political discussion boards as normally you are considered a well meaning anchor to the debate. Most of this shit would be sent to the corner.

The righties are correct there is a huge group of dem kool aid drinkers around here. That doews not mean it is rigfht to support Trump and the republicans, but thinking the dems are anywhere near good is just stupid.

Black kids didn't get the same education even after being bused cross town. They were segregated by class. Except for the black kids that were doing very well, they were relegated to general education classes that were nothing more than storage.

Charlotte Mecklenburg schools is huge. Kids were on busses (buses?) for 90 minutes or more each way.

Wealthy white people were gaming the system by moving to neighborhoods that still fed local schools or sending their kids to private schools.

So you had poor underprivileged white people and poor underprivileged black people staring at each other going the opposite directions on school buses that were hot, smelly, and noisy for 3 hours a day.

Busing wasn't effective in correcting the problems.

 

That is not the point, and certainly not the reason creepy racist joe opposed it. Your conflating our present knowledge of the inadequacies of busing with the past where joe did not want black kids in white schools.

 

Maybe you would cite his reasons for me? His stated reasoning at the time is consistent with what I experienced, at least the ones I read on the wiki link you posted.

goddammit, I lived it. I saw the problems. I was a loner and hung out with some of the black kids that were bused across town. I met and made friends with people I never would have met so it was good for that reason, but not generally.

I asked how putting the person who help craft and establish the methods trump uses will help the situation first. I do not see any reason to thing Biden will go against what he helped to make. It also might be worse considering you people turn a blind eye to Biden just like trump people turn a blind eye to him. Yes, I've seem his copy and pasted post before. It's not going to change the mind of anyone who is voting third party out of protest or is tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. It's also completely wrong to say that ANYONE not voting for Biden is voting for Trump because quite a great number of third party votes are coming from Republicans. If they normally vote republican and don't vote for Trump then that is a win for Biden.

My health care hasn't changed in the last four years.
And if you want to stop the spread of covid, wear a mask and practice social distancing. The government can't be a babysitter for everyone 24/7.
