UA voting tangent

Just in case there is still any doubt about this: I am, absolutely, definitely, without equivocation or hesitation, saying that she and everyone else who wants to be an even marginally decent person and has the right to vote, yes indeed 100% does, does, does need to, has to, must, is obligated to, has no other legitimate choice than to, vote for Biden.

But obviously I should try and be clearer about that.

Yes, and no, I'm not going to go hunting for the threads, because finding that one was a big enough pain in the ass as it was. Short answer is that the story is now, they made it up (or stretched the truth a bit) to aggrandize themselves in our eyes and make us feel in awe of their power. Either way, saying "I was named in a suicide note" is not the way one should introduce themselves, even in impolite society.

People say all kinds of shit for a lot of different reasons and sometimes that really turns some people off. I get it. You don't like Tererun. There is nothing wrong with that. But, until I've come back here and started participating in your meme thread, I don't recall any time you and I ever conversed on any ongoing level. So for you to come at me and demand that I not like Tererun for the same reasons you dislike Tererun, kinda sounds like something from an 8 year old.

I want you to try to have an honest, thoughtful conversation about why you think Tererun wasn't bragging about causing someone to commit suicide, for starters. Saying, "I didn't take it that way" isn't good enough. Why do you think that they couldn't have meant it that way? What, specifically, about that post (and any other posts Tererun has made here) leads you to believe that this wasn't a boast on their part?

Definitely the worse choice of candidates this country has ever seen. It's hilarious watching people go out of their way to spin their guy as some great hope.

I took it to mean, that after reading some posts here and ... not sure if it's in that "introduce yourself" thread or where I read it, but somewhere on here we have something that says to the affect "this board can be rough and if you can't take take a bloody nose, this isn't the place for you" and that is what she was responding to.

That is an honest, thoughtful answer.

This board has a reputation at trekbbs and has also bragged about how that reputation is deserved. I don't believe everyone here behaves that way. But, many do. This thread is a perfect example of it.

I'm not demanding anything at all. Except that you recognize the nature of the person you're siding with.

And the reason that you and I've never really interacted on the board is that I've generally not paid too much attention to you. I have read a number of your posts, agreed with some, disagreed with others, and in general thought that when you were mistaken, that your heart was at least in the right place. Now, I'm interacting with you because I want to see how much thought you've put into something, and how much of your reactions are simply emotional responses to things that are posted here. I don't necessarily expect you to change your mind on anything at all, but I would like to see that you're putting some actual thought behind your answers.

I think many here would acknowledge your expertise in this area.

I can't say I always post from a serious perspective. Sometimes, in a serious thread, something strikes me as funny. and I say it.

But, I always post ... exactly how I would say it if the person was right next to me. I know that drives many people crazy especially in emails and text messages. But I truly do not know how to have an online personna. I am who I am.

I don't know anything about TrekBBS, as I've never posted there. I do know that if you think this thread is any way being remotely harsh, you've certainly missed out on a number of threads in this place. And I'm sure anyone who was here when John Castle was posting will agree with me.
