C'mon, man. Most Canadians are hockey fans. Of course you can formulate a statement without it being an absolute. But other than that, I agree with your sentiment. Ultimately there's no difference between fascist enablers and fascists. Honestly, I know a lot of people I would say who try to be good in their day to day lives, that voted Trump. The one overriding thing they have in common? They are vastly ignorant. Ignorance and stupidity always enable evil. It takes intelligence and wisdom to be good in this world, because you have to understand the consequences of your actions.
A request, not a statement. The semantic analysis of requests is not the same as that of statements, either. An absolute statement. You are stating as an absolute that most Canadians are hockey fans. Another absolute statement. You are stating as an absolute that it is possible to formulate a statement without it being an absolute. The fact that that statement is false does not change its absolute nature. From a semantic point of view, it is curious that we cannot formulate a statement that is anywhere between 1 and 0. We can do it with an indirect reference, but never with the fundamental proposition of a statement. (For example, your statement about Canadians as hockey fans. The indirect reference to Canadians is not absolute, but the fundamental statement of the sentence still was.) There are some curious epistemological implications to this, as regards our capacity to grasp and express ourselves concerning the world around us.
Even more amazing is that an adult would even bother with the stupid nickname in the first place and think it was funny and witty at the same time
Ah yes the old, "I would have stood up to the Nazis if I were alive in the 1930s" canard. No you wouldn't.
Before being a sex doctor, Dr. Ruth was a Jewish resistance sniper. Dr. Ruth is pretty much a dwarf. FF has basically confessed to having less balls and pluck than a little Jewish dwarf lady. I don't even have to throw pies at FF, he just holds them up himself, trips, and lands in them.
Antifa and BLM hasn't gone up against real Nazis, you know, the ones with guns, gas chambers and an entire government and army to back them. Those guys would round up Antifa and BLM and execute them.
Your Boy Donnie wants them to overturn the election, by violence if necessary. They've already got the guns, and their fantasy is that Donnie-boy will get his way. Gas chambers would be too passive for them. Mass executions a la Poland would be more
You may not have voted for him, but you spend a shitload of energy defending his most extreme supporters. You seem conflicted.
So if I am reading you correctly, a Nazi isn’t a real Nazi until they have taken over a government, have it and its military behind them and start committing genocide? Before they have that power, what do you call them? Proto-Nazis? And what do you call the people that aid and abet them? (Aside from friends and family?)
I spent the day after Christmas arguing with two close friends over the election that they're convinced was stolen. They were saying they never wanted to vote again and were talking about secession. Leftforge has been calling every Trump supporter a Nazi for four years. We're arguing in this very thread over the term fascist and who is and isn't a fascist. I'm being told in this thread that I need to label my friends and family fascists simply for voting for Trump. I didn't vote for Trump and I don't believe the election was stolen, but yeah I still lean libertarian and still support some conservative policies. I don't support fascism, but i still support my friends and family and I don't consider them to be fascists. But leftforge keeps insisting they so yeah, I'm a little conflicted.
That wasn’t the question. You stated that someone can’t be a Nazi unless that party has taken over a government, have it and its military behind them and starts committing genocide. I’m asking YOU, what YOU would call those folks in Germany who were a part of/supported the Nazis BEFORE all that happened?
