The removal of the embargo is long, long overdue. Obama did the right thing by ending it, only for Trump to put it back in place. Biden seems to have no interest in ending it, and so once again Cuba continues to be punished for choosing to nationalize its manufacturing and production facilities rather than allowing US companies to step in and take it apart piecemeal as they have done to so many other nations, and that it was a former ally to the USSR didn't help it either in the eyes of our government. So free healthcare, free housing, longer lifespan than average US citizen, higher literacy than the US, equal rights for all citizens including the right of LGBTQ+ people to marry, adopt, and add to their families as they see fit, it could be a real paradise without the massive sanctions against it. Hell, Cuba could probably make tourism income just off of its car culture alone.
Maybe. Have you checked? Do you care? Or was this just a drive by? It has successfully chased off a lot of teachers. So much so that DeSantis got his win by axing teacher certification for veterans, further devaluing public education while rewarding likely supporters. By June, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity found 5,837 open teaching positions online, up 53% from June of 2021. The report found that the teacher shortage was so bad, that about 10% of teachers active during the 2021-2022 school year weren’t properly certified to teach in their field. https://news.yahoo.com/report-breaks-down-florida-teacher-033815389.html Now Vets don’t even have to have a Bachelors degree, much less one in Education or an applicable field, to get certification. https://www.fldoe.org/teaching/certification/military/ So win-win for you and your fascist buddies. Kick the gays out, replace with Vets who weren’t smart enough to use the GI Bill (which literally PAYS YOU to go to college) to get a degree who are now beholden to your regime for their job and will work to destroy the Teachers’ Union from the inside.
It would be a pretty ineffectual "Don't Say Gay" bill if there were no consequences for the literal act of saying "gay." Now, if this was an admission that the "don't say" portrayal was a pile of disingenuously histrionic fluff meant to camouflage shit that has no place in an elementary school, I will hear your confessions now.
So in your mind being fired and sued aren’t consequences? Has to be jail? Interesting… I’ll remember this next time I hear whining about some pasty white guy losing advertisers because people didn’t find his shtick funny anymore.
That looks to be about your reading level. Get it at the Book Fair today? How much were you able to understand?
What in this bill do you think is fascist? Also, define buddies because I don't even know DeSantos so how can he be my buddy?
Anc already replied, but @Bill Carson very carefully worded his question, so let's be respectful and keep to what he said. Who said they would be arrested?
The part where one person wants to control another person’s speech. One would think someone who insists they are a constitutionalist would be against that sort of thing. And don't even come back with som bullshit about “I never said I was …” cuz you fucking did. Regardless of the specific word you used.
Fine, you hair-splitting pedant weasels. Were the "consequences" for the literal act of saying "gay" and nothing else, or are you running gaslight interference for something that does not belong in elementary schools?
the government controlling the aspects of people’s lives is not fascism? No wonder you defend trump and white supremacists.
This is what they do. When it's a Democrat bill that the right has given a "funny name" that doesn't quite represent what's actually in the bill, people here will pull the same sort of shit that I did because they think they're being funny. Then when someone calls it out they do the same thing @Bailey did, "who said blah, blah, blah?, nobody ever said, ....those exact words" This is why I call it playing games or trying to trap me or something like that. It happens every time. Then they try to gaslight me and pretend it never happened. Biggest example, Defund Police. They act like that's not what they really meant because they tried that shit in Seattle and it blew up in their face. Will someone like @Ancalagon admit this? No, he'll post some random twitter asshole, probably Antifa, and pretend it's a legitimate news source and everyone will agree and pat him on the back for it. Then if I post anything from Fox News or any unapproved news source, I get roasted for it. They're hypocrites. Want proof? I've posted articles in the past from Newsweek. I got roasted for it from @Tuckerfan because Newsweek, according to him, is owned by a cult and he refused to accept it as a legit news source. This has happened a few times. Then the other day he thought Twitter, AKA. God's gift to the world, AKA. the most trusted news source eva!, thought there was a coup going on in China. He even created a thread about it. Now that would be a big deal so I looked it up. Guess the only news source outside of foreign questionable sources had the story? Newsweek. So I didn't post it in that thread because I didn't want to hear any shit from @Tuckerfan about it. Boy was I wrong. The very next morning dude posts the very same Newsweek article I chose not to post. Now, he did preface his post with enough weaselly words to kind of say he didn't quite trust it, but it could be true, blah, blah, blah, sure. Imagine if I had pulled the trigger on posting the Newsweek article first, what do you think would have happened?
The government controlling aspects of people's lives is a key component of government in general. It can fit damn near any political ideology. As for your second claim you're going to have to provide proof of that. Proof being a quote from me. You can't because again, you and your "buddies" (buddies being a word I know the definition of, unlike @Ancalagon, hence the quotation marks) don't know what words mean. Specifically, you don't know what it means to defend someone.
By @Jenee 's definition: Government controlling aspects of people's lives= fascism. Mask mandates and vaccine mandates is an example of the government controlling aspects of people's lives. That's fascism. The party you support are fascists, you're a fascist because I say so. See how that works, clown boy?
Conservative censorship is okay, cuz they'll only burn books about fags who adopt, and Jewish mice. They won't burn Bibles like the imaginary commies in my head.
If you can't understand the ... to you subtleties between governing and fascism, you probably should not be commenting on the subject.
