No way this goes to second page. Elwood, how's UAB? They play the Sooners in a week? Any miracles planned?
Texas Tech is kicking the year off with another easy first few games. I'll be going down to College Station tomorrow to hang out for the weekend. While I'm there I'm going to catch the A&M vs Citadel game. I'll get a good look at the enemy and see what we're up against, but I'm not really worried about A&M... until basketball season anyway.
University of Tulsa won in impressive fashion. Oklahoma St. won in impressive fashion. OU trailed late in the 3rd against UAB before being bailed out by Adrian Peterson. Uninspired, unimpressive, but not unexpected. I predict no better than a 7-4 season.
Personally I think OSU needs to keep scheduling high school teams. Hey, Ash, does the Citadel have an open date next year?
Well, USC seems to have the Razorbacks well in hand. Looks like OSU and Texas won handily. I'm looking forward to their game next Saturday night and I hope Texas kicks the living shit out of OSU. All the time I've spent in Ohio has taught me to hate OSU like no other school besides Notre Dame and UCLA. I bear no ill will for the Championship game last year- Texas earned that one fair and square. I hope they DESTROY OSU in a fashion that crushes the spirit of their fat, drunk, stupid, and in all other ways idiotic fans for the remainder of the season.
I couldn't make it to the game, seeing as how I bought a new boat and all. But, as a true redneck I cranked the boat's radio, put a float in the water, tied the float to one of the pontoons, and kicked back with a beer. I fell off when Auburn first scored, but I saved the beer!
Colorado gets beat by Div 1-AA Montana State, and Kansas State squeaks by another 1-AA team by one point. Way to be Big 12 North! Don't be surprised if Nebraska loses all three of their games against South teams.
I'm back from Aggieland. I went to the game last night and it was fun. The Ags of course put the beat down on The Citadel 35-3 and looked alright while doing it. They're running backs need some ball handling work because they each fumbled at least once. Oh and it also turns out that A&M's QB's are both very fast. They haven't lost any speed now that McNeil is gone. Texas Tech put the beat down on SMU 35-3 as well. But Tech only put up 14 points after the 1st Quarter which has me a little concerned. I haven't seen any highlights from the game but I expected them to put up at least 42 on SMU. Guess we'll see. Anyone get to see OU and Notre Dame almost blow it? I need to catch Sports Center and see what happened there.
Ahem! Missouri 47, Murray State 7 What, you mean Murray State isn't a powerhouse! Chase Daniel Named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Chase Daniel era couldn't have gotten off to a much better start than it did Saturday evening, and because of that, the sophomore QB was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week by a media panel on Monday. Daniel led Mizzou to a rousing 47-7 victory in which he broke the MU single-game record by throwing 5 TD passes in his first career start. He completed 23-of-32 passes on the night for 320 yards with no interceptions, and his passer rating of 207.44 was 8th-highest in the nation through games of Saturday. His yardage total ranked 8th-most in the country through Saturday, and only he and Texas Tech's Graham Harrell threw for as many as 5 TDs.
My brother in law is Vandal alumni so we were pleased that after all the trash talking, Idaho at least held their own against MSU. I tell you what else, it's kinda tough having family and friends who are all Vandal alums when you live in the hometown of Boise State. Of course, USC trumps all.
Oklahoma was bailed out by Adrian Peterson, Tex. If he went down, they'd be in a world of hurt. I wasn't encouraged.
