Here's a hint. It's a pretty famous landmark, and I'd guess that most people here have seen it, but this pic is taken at an odd angle, so it's not immediately recogniseable...until you see one very distinguishing feature that is in the pic.
It's in Ashville, NC. Beautiful place. Wish my yard looked like that one. Isn't it the largest privately owned estate in the U.S.?
Asheville is awesome. I fell off a horse on the side of a mountain there about two spring breaks ago- I was lucky I landed in a good spot. Cool pic, though.
The general shape of the roofline was familiar to me. I remembered it from an episode of 'American Castles' (or somesuch) a couple of years back. I thought: "Glad they're taken good care of my house until I'm ready to move in."
Wish I'd seen this earlier...I used to work security at Biltmore, long ago. From midnight to eight am, the place was MINE...
You don't want it. No air conditioning. The A/C used to come from an ice making plant in the basement, which is no longer in use. That place gets extremely hot in the summer. That said, if you do move in and want to know where the ghosts hang out, let me know.
Have Gun Will Travel beat me to it. And yes, I think Biltmore is larger than San Simeon (sp?), the Hearst estate, if that's what your pic Gul.
Here's a more recogniseable picture. Several movies have been filmed there...including the "civilization" parts of the Last of the Mohicans feature film. The rest of that movie was filmed in the area where my ancestral family summer home is.
