If I google my first and last name, I get 2 links to local newspapers (me) for forensics tournaments (me) and a link to my school's newsletter (me).

    All me.

If I google first, middle, and last, it asks me if I spelled my name right because there are no matches.

So I would hate to have to use my real name online.

Well, I basically am using my real name - not that I go by Liz much IRL but it has happened before. And as for my last name, with very few exceptions, if I used it, probably most folk would misspell it horribly.
But then again, I might find some long lost relatives.

Might have given me some trouble back during my days modding TNZ - one guy did threaten to try to get me fired from work.

But obviously breaking the veil can be a great thing too - I got a wife and kid out of it, when I least expected it! LOL.

It might make for a little politer society. The internet's like the highway, lot's of episodes of road rage because people think they can be dicks without any repercussions.

My name, married or maiden aren't particularly common but still there just isn't much to find on me online.

If you know my name, my name and phone number is listed though, so it would be easy to find me.

Anyway, I think most people know my name is Tracie anyway.

I'm not too secretive a person and often share a little bit too much information for some people's liking so it isn't hard to believe that people vaguely remember me mentioning my name. On the first few hits with Patrick Ricker on Google I get a rich investor donating money to ACORN, a member of the Board of Licensing, as well as this guy:

Another me also died on the week of June 19, 2005. Looking at the list the alternative mes have some pretty important positions. On the second page there is a hit to my LJ which I scarcely touch nowadays. After that there is little of relevance.

I am a 21 year old white male living in New Hampshire. My current residence is in flux as I am half living at my father's and half living with my girlfriend. The two places are in Franklin and Concord respectively. I work at a warehouse/distribution business and for 8 hours a day I run the show, we (my boss and I are the only employees) have our offices tucked away in the back of the Webster Valve division of Watts Water Technologies' factory here in Franklin. I've yet to attend any education beyond high school, but have high aspirations for my life's work. I drive a real shitbox of a car, a '91 Subaru Legacy dark blue with no hubcaps. I have a small clutch of friends that I stick with and rarely stray beyond, except for my relationship pursuits which I apparently am bad at as some of you may have noticed.

The point I am getting at with this is, if we had to get rid of nicknames and personas the internet would be a whole hell of a lot more boring. There are probably millions of people in the world who have just as interesting of stories to tell as I just have and yet with the freedom of being able to leave behind their true self they can at least etch out a slightly more entertaining existance on the internet. Though this isn't to say I am a boring person to be around, I just don't have any incredible stories to tell at least not at 21.

They don't. V has the "F" sound, and W has the "V" sound as opposed to whistle. I guess they can't pucker up and blow.

    locust...

You really should edit the use of someone's full name out of your LJ. That is really kinda scummy.

And mentioning it here after doing so was probably not the best idea, either.

Italy doesn't have the letter W (or J,K, or Y) and also doesn't use an actual W sound either. I think a lot of Europe doesn't dso the W thing.

Duly noted, but I scarcely think my friends kids are going to think me scummy for being proud of them and wanting to display their full names. The other name I mentioned already thinks I am kinda scummy.

I mean it's up to you, but it's really not nice to use someone's name like that and kind of make you look like a jerk.

Kinda hard to hide your name when you use it to create your screen name.

    Edit: To MayDay

You still don't have to spell it all out, middle name included like that.

It lacks class, is ungentlemanly and future women interested in you will think so if they stumble on it when looking you up on the net. Which more and more do, as technology and savviness grow.

I know I wouldn't want to be your potential next ex who might end up on your blog, fully exposed like that.

I like the negativity. I know what you are saying Tamar, you don't have to say it four times. I am not going to change it because it doesn't matter to me one way or the other how it makes me look.

About the negativity, what the hell? Am I known to turn over girlfriends like pages in a book so readily that each successive one should look forward to being my "next ex"? I realize what you've seen presented may not make me look the best guy in the world, hell I'm a bit of an ass, but I am not out breaking hearts left and right. I hurt MayDay, yeah, but I did apologize as best as I could when I knew that I would mean it most. The other girl I mentioned before her was the slightly creepy hot topic girl who never made any time to hang out with the guy she was supposedly interested in, so since it seemed like I didn't have a girlfriend I decided to not have one at all. She wasn't phased and promptly went back to her ex.

Before that I was with the girl I am back with. Come this November we will have been together (mostly) for the last four years. About six months before her I was with my high school girlfriend for two and a half years. She was kinda crazy, hit me with a hammer once, did other things I'd rather not mention and all around we had a fairly abusive relationship.

I've never cheated on any of them. I hurt MayDay and I've certainly made my current girlfriend cry a few times, but I do try to make ammends where applicable.

The name thing... you know, I'll change it just to get you to leave me alone about it. I'll just refer to her as MayDay then, kinda ambiguous but still makes enough sense that I'll remember who I'm talking about.

I bet you even listened to a couple voice posts, sound like a moron drunk don't I?

Uh, yeah. The first three letters of my first name (Ali is my nickname, not my real first name) are included in my screen name. Had I created it and incorporated my full first, middle, and last name, then you have a point.
