...when they talk about Obama in mixed company. Cracks me up. I always have the impression that they were gonna say something totally different untill I walked up to the group.

I notice slow and careful wording.

I wanna hear a white dude say..Fuck that Obama dude! Speak out!

No Black President in your lifetime, right?! Black man in the White House?? Riiiiiiggghhht!!

Anyway, I guess its good practice for ya'll.

Maybe they use slow and careful wording because Human Resources has them scared they'll be in trouble for saying something that could somehow offend a minority. That's how it is in most corporations anyway.

I know if you ever said "no black president" in the Army your ass would be handed to you, along with your career.

Ralph is talking to some people around the water cooler in Mewa's office.

Ralph: "This Obama guy? Sheesh. He's one hell of an uppity ni---"

Mewa (walking up): "Yo, bitches! What up?"

Ralph (without missing a beat): "---ce guy, you know, so articulate and, well, clean, and really sorta hopeful for the future. Isn't that right, everyone?"

    Everyone murmurs their assent.

Mewa: "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Jes' once I'd like to hear some white mugs say 'Black man in the White House? Fuhgedaboutit!'"

Ralph: "Gosh, no, Mewa. I mean, that would be racist."

    Everyone murmurs their aggrement.

Mewa: "Well, a'ight, then. Peace out, yo!"

Mewa walks away. Ralph and the others look around, making sure he's gone before continuing.

Ralph: "So, like I was saying..."

I'm still wondering that Obama does become president, does it mean we will never have another white president?

I'd vote for him if I thought he was worth a shit. Skin tone won't help anyone do that job unless their hide is made of $100 bills.

I'll tell y'all right now, from a Canadian perspective, I like Obama. I think he's trying a bit too hard to be the next Martin Luther King though. The whole "change" message is all good, but I'm just unsure as to how it'll go AFTER he's elected.

I wonder though...in a political race in the United States, which would be more likely to be voted into office? A Black Man, or a woman?

    I like Obama personally.

It's all those slightly the left of Karl Marx policies he's got going that I can't stand.

Race is a non-issue in this case. I won't vote for Obamma because he's a democrat. If he was coal-black and a republican, I'd vote for him.
    It's just that simple IMO.

This mentality, more than any other, is what disgusts me with politics. Simply having an "R" next to his name establishes absolutely nothing about his worthiness as a leader. Nothing. The stakes are a bit higher than merely achieving the most "wins" for your "team."

Gaby Hayes on the rooftype, looking through the spyglass

Gaby: Hey! The Sheriff is a ni... *church bell clang*

Town elder: What did he say?

Town elder2: The Sheriff is near!

Gaby: No, gosh-darnit dang-nabbit. The Sheriff is a ni... *clang!*

If he had a viable plan for the country, I'd vote for him. I don't give a shit what his skin color or political affiliation is. But he doesn't have a plan. In fact, his skin color is the only thing that's gotten him this far in the race. If he was a white guy, he wouldn't have gotten as far as Ralph Nader has.

True, being Dem or Repub doesn't make you a better leader - I just don't want a Dem President, period. I don't like their party, period.
I don't think a Dem President would be good for the country, especially right now. So, yes, I'll play the game Republicans accuse Dems of:
voting for whoever's running just because they can't stand the other party.

I won't vote for Obama, it has nothing to do with his skin. I've voted for Alan Keyes for Christ's sake. It has nothing to do with just being a Democrat. I'd vote for Truman if he was running. It has everything to do with what he says and the policies he is proposing. He's charasmatic and maybe would be someone I'd share a beer with, but there is no way I'd vote for the guy.

Is Obama gonna paint the White House black? He really is going to get shot if he does that.

Yeah. I agree with most everyone here. B.O. has gotten way more publicity because he's black than he has ever been hurt by being black. I'd like him a lot better if he had some decent policies.

No. Purple with yellow and red trim.

You can count on a few velvet paintings inside too. Maybe that one with the dogs playing poker or some that look like the intro to Good Times.

Obama is Farrakhan's worst nightmare. Farrakhan built his empire off of the message that the black man will never be able to participate in the white man's world... and here is Obama with the White House itself within reach...

I don't know what Farrakhan thinks of Obama and nor do I care. But people like you who attempt to inject race and bigotry into the Obama campaign disgust me.

I opted for a TL... The TSX looks great, but the feel of a 4 cylinder was still there. Once you go 6 cylinder, you don't go back. I still got my "Star Trek" symbol on the Sterring Wheel!! :tos: ... and 30 mpg on the highway!
