I've been on flights where the little TVs in the back of the seats ahead of you had a GPS channel. I guess that's not going to happen anymore.

Me too. Air Canada and JetBlue pioneered it. And, yes, the TSA has ordered airlines to disable that feature.

That's damned annoying. I liked seeing where we were.

Has airport security become the next economic bubble, inflated by constant fraud? I'd invest in metal detectors.

"I pulled the object from him ... and threw it away."

    What "Object?"
Where is it? What does it look like?
A PDA with a blown Lithium Ion battery by any chance?

Otherwise, this "object" would be showcased in all the corporate media as definitive proof of the crime! The absence of this object from the media is notable! It should be there, but isn't.

And how can our hero pull an "object" from our terrorist when the official story is of 80 grams of PETN sewn into his underwear?

As a side note, the explosives sensors used at the airports detect PETN remotely.

It was a glycol liquid explosive igniter in a syringe and it has been in the media.

PETN requires an external detonator. It's the explosive of choice for terrorists because it is stable until an external detonator is brought to play.

This is the same kind of get up in the same mold that AQ used to try to kill the chief of Counter-Terrorism of Saudi Arabia.

And it came from the same place - AQ operatives working out of Yemen.

    :jayzus:

How many more Gitmo alumni have to go back to the jihad before we think twice about releasing all the "innocent sheep herders that were just haphazardly rounded up by the money grubbing Afghanis"?

You know I'm no granola-munching bleeding-heart liberal. But, if any government, even my own, locked me up without trial for six years, if I did get out...well...even if I was innocent before, I'd have a pretty big fuckin' axe to grind. There'd be a reckoning.

And its not as if AQ has ever lied in one of their little announcements. Nope. They've always been completely honest. After all, if you can't trust people who have no problem murdering women and children for no reason other than they flashed too much skin or happened to be in a certain country at a certain time to be honest, then who can you trust?

So I heard that he got on the airplane because a guy in a suit 'convinced' them to let him on without his passport. I'd like to compare my version and yours.

I wish Joe Lieberman would retire. I swear, he was talking about the new TSA scanners that are very detailed and he said people were against it because of privacy concerns, well he goes on to explain why it's so important that we have these kind of scanners so that people can be protected, and if I could have rolled my eyes any harder they would have attained low earth orbit.

Scanners don't make you safe, you nitwit, you know what makes you safe? Being aware of your surroundings. Of course in this day and time that's likely to get you arrested by the drooling moron behind the counter staring at your junk.

Awareness and not letting people fly who are on the terror list. Especially people with one way tickets paid for in cash. Or arm the fucking pilot.

They did. It became so clusterfucked by government regulations that it actually became dangerous. One of the regulations violates the third rule of gun safety, for Christ's sake.

The FAA approved one holster from one manufacturer. This holster has an open trigger guard so you can put a padlock through it. A padlock that presses up against the goddamned trigger. It's mind-blowingly amazing that there has only been one accidental discharge due to this since they started allowing the pilots to carry.
