He seemed rather unsure of what the future would hold at his press conference. I can see him taking one season off, but it would be really difficult to take any time off beyond that. Those $15,000/year Bull Gators get mighty restless, and Steve Adazzio isn't head coach material.

I can't see this working out well, either coach or step down. This sounds like a clusterfuck in the making.

Damn! The dude is a year younger than me and is going into the hospital w/ Chest Pains?!? Hopefully some time off helps, but I don't see a "Leave of Absence" doing the trick. Come next season (if all goes according to his plan), the stress will be right back up there where it's always been. I wish Urban Meyer well, but I have my doubts.

Fuck... Texas Tech has suspended Mike Leach for treatment of an undisclosed player after an injury. We will still win the Bowl Game but so much for having a good head coach, he'd be crazy not to quit now.

I walk in, switch the TV to the Independence Bowl, and the first thing I hear is, "...be surprised if Mike Leach is the coach at Texas Tech next year..."

He put Adam James, the son of ESPN's Craig James in a closet. It's not the 1950's, you can't get away with that, but shit, you don't do it to the son of an ESPN announcer!

Oh, and the Aggies got screwed on that last possession.

So much for the Red Roosters. Apparently the Rooster roster is replete with weeping pussies who whine to their ESPN daddies whenever the coach uses too much harsh language. "Wahhhhhh, the coach said we had fat little girlfriends! Wahhhhhhhh! I want to be coddled and have my self-esteem boosted even though I'm pissing away the season vs. the Aggies!"

Meanwhile, despite having a mediocre season, the OU coach was #1 on the Notre Dame wish list, and his name still pops up on a regular basis for vacant NFL head coaching positions.

Enjoy the next quarter-century of obscurity Tex, it's about how long I anticipate it'll take the Roosters to field another half-way decent team. Of course by then Tech will likely have dropped the football program in favor of men's synchronized water aerobics.

I don't know what you're talking about Flashy, my loyalty lies with Leach. Hopefully he won't be doing the Holiday Inn tour with Mangino as Flow suggested would be the case on Facebook. Bottom line, I'm a Texas Tech fan, and that's looking a little rough right now, but I'm also going to be a fan of where ever Leach ends up, minus a rival school.

But you know what really makes me stand out from you and the other shitbag gooners? No matter what happens, next year, I'll be right here cheering for my team win or lose. I won't just pop in for a one liner because of a bad year.

This is personal for the Tech AD. He and Leach hate each other. The only reason this is even a big deal is because it's Craig James' son. He put a guy with a mild concussion in a dark, air conditioned room while the rest of the team finished practice? Big fucking deal. How does that hurt anyone? Adam James is a giant pussy and his parents are only doing this because Leach wouldn't grant his transfer request. And Tech is fucking retarded for allowing this circus to go public just so they can get rid of the best coach they ever had.

The Adam James counterattack has begun, stories popping up all over the sports blogosphere about how he's a spolied brat with a gigantic sense of entitlement that apparently nobody on the team liked.

Who in Lubbock thinks they will get anyone half as good as Leach to go out to West Texas? I'd trade Gundy for Leach in a heartbeat. The only winners in this are Baylor, A&M, and Oklahoma State.

Leach is a pretty strange guy that probably wouldn't fit in at Notre Dame. I can't imagine him being the face of that program. Kansas would be funny considering what they fired Mangino for. I'll definitely enjoy that if it happens.

So here is my final thought on this mess: This is now the second football program that the James family has helped destroy! Huzzah.

The Team Leach Facebook group has now gotten their hands on Adam and Craig's addresses in Lubbock and their home town and both of their phone numbers. I would really hate to be them right now. Someone is bound to do something stupid and irresponsible with this information.

Leach got railroaded!

Leach = instant offense. He may be a nutball, but 45 points a game will sell tickets and put butts in the bleachers. Not that Notre Dame has difficulty selling tickets. I think there are a lot of schools out there that will put up with eccentricity in exchange for 45 points per game, even if part of that package is also lame defense.

Leach's true calling is offensive coordinator. Pair him with a program that can put together a great defense, like, say.....OU for example, and you'll have instant national championship.

I don't think a big program will touch him. It will be a mid major and it might be a year off first. Where Leach would truly excel would be as a color commentator for a network.

The problem is that your theory has been tested already. One of the reasons Leach had friction with AD is because of his habit of contacting other schools about possible job openings and making himself available for interviews. No one wanted him. His stock was as high as it will ever be last year and he put himself out there and got no bites at all. They want no part of the pirate.

If he gets into a CUSA or Big East school his stock will sky rocket because he will actually win some conference championships.

It's called discipline and it's missing today. My great uncle played on Auburn's National Championship Squad. When I was young, I'd bounce on his knee and hear about how how everyone was terrified of "Coach." How hard and horrible he was. How he didn't have to yell. How a glance from him during practice was enough to chill your blood.

But, at the same time, second only to their fathers, he was these young men's hero. Women wanted him and men wanted to be him. He was just... "Coach."

Pussies and diva's. That's what we've got today.

Anyone seen the youtube video of the "closet space" he confined James to? Leach's lawyer made the video. There was a television in there. Adam James really must be the biggest pussy in the world if he went crying to daddy over that. You'd think Leach forced him to practice with a concussion. Why would that enrage a parent???? Seriously, what the fuck? He didn't do anything to the kid. I'm supposedly miss liberal vegetarian tree hugger and I can't figure out what was so horrible. He's a football coach. Isn't he supposed to be mean?

Also, Tuberville has been the Aggies wet dream for a decade or so, and hiring him while the Aggies linger in mediocrity would be freaking hilarious.
