I can't stand him. He'd do anything for a bit of publicity, not sure what was the point of having him in England's dugout throughout the tournament.

Moving on, Paraguay may not have given us the best football, but they may have just about the fittest supporters. ;)

Terry is a fine example of why players shouldn't be role models, he's a fantastic player and a great leader, but a complete and utter turd of a human being.

Worse, as seen recently he's quite happy to shit where he eats, so pretty deficient in the brain department as well.

He's really kept out of the limelight on this, so I think that's a bit unfair on the guy. He could've been the centre of a circus, but hasn't - he seems genuinely interested in trying to help England.

Reads more like it was a bunch of bollockbrains rather than actual hoolies...

I've been surprised at the local chavs, I'd have expected them to act like rabid gibbons but instead they've been as muted as England's performances. Not even one rendition of 'No Surrender' has been heard :soma:

One for the record books that.

He really is such a prick. He can't get over not being captain no more. His stupid run up the field, typically trying to be the big man and score us a goal cost us big time, leaving a huge hole at the back from which the krauts scored the 4th. Without Chelsea's superb midfielders and other defenders covering his arse, he gets shown up as the overrated, slow, flat-footed, bumbling, error-prone mong that he is.

So, who do you like in the Quarterfinals...Germany or Argentina? Now THAT will be a match!!! Personally, I've gotta go w/ Germany.

    And Uruguay over Ghana.

    I'd like to see:

    Argentina over Germany
    Paraguay over Japan
    Spain over Portugal
    Netherlands over Slovakia
    Brazil over Chile
    Uruguay over Ghana

My ultimate final would be Brazil vs Argentina with Argentina for the win. Top three finalists in this order:

    1. Argentina
    2. Brazil
    3. Netherlands

From a footballing point of view you'd have to want to see Argentina go all the way.

For me, financially I would like to see a Holland-Portugal final given the bets I have on both. Not sure if the draw would allow them both to meet in the final however.

According to this chart a Holland-Portugal final is definitely possible?

    Holland-Spain or Brazil-Spain for me.

Holland beating Spain in the final would do me... Especially after Italy and England letting me down so badly in the group stages!

That's nothing, in the EPL we have players up on rape charges and who like to consider sex a team activity!

How old was that girl Terry was nailing a while back? 16?

There's a rumor that City had a scout at the WC specifically taking a look at Donovan. The could be interesting.

I don't see that happening. If the Galaxy let him go back to Europe, it's Everton for certain. According to virtually ALL reports, he loved it there and the team and fans loved him there!

I would be gutted if these horrible, cheating Brazilians win. I'd GLADLY see the Germans or Argies win ahead of this lot!

Brazil is putting it to Chile, currently 3-0. I was hoping that Chile might be up to the task, but it looks like I'll be rooting for Netherlands to squash the mighty Brazil. How about Netherlands/Uruguay, Germany/Spain semi-finals? I could go for that!

Brazil are just steamrolling through, although the Dutch have a miserly defence so the QF ought to be an exercise in what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object.

So it'll either be a goal-fest or hugely tedious.

I hope we see the Holland of Euro 2008 on Friday. They were tearing it up at that tournament, destroying the French and Italians, playing brilliant football.
They've been a bit quiet so far, here's hoping they explode on Friday and give the Brazillians a hiding. Unlikely to happen though, to be fair. :(

Do you think so? I don't see it. Reminds me of Chelsea, a big powerfull unit, built from the back that can hit hard when it decides to go forward. Not much excitment though.

Given the money theyv got and their ambitions, its very doubtful they'd look at him. And I can't see him holding down a starting place in that team.

Everton though would be a good shout.

I think tonights game is going to be one or the other, absolutley no middle ground for an average game. Could quite easily see it going 0-0 through ET and decided on penalties, but lets hope Ronaldo and Torres both find some form early and open the game up within the first 10 minutes.

Spain vs Portugal tonight. I'm going to go with a conservative estimate of at least 7000 dives/instances of cheating/unsporting behaviour over the 90 minutes, from both teams.

Oh, and Spain to win, 1-0.

Apparently 'Ronaldo' roughly translates as 'there are not enough face-punches in the universe' in some language.

It may be an entirely made-up language, but still.
