A woman's husband dies. A few days later, knowing she's alone, two assholes try to break into her house. One winds up dead.
And not with some little fucking pop gun where the intruder might survive being shot in the head like the other thread. This one blasted the fool with a 12 gauge. Don't fuck with momma!
I don't understand why one of the perps didn't just take the gun away from her and use it against her. Or at least, given that she needlessly escalated the situation by pulling a shotgun, they didn't pull out a bigger shotgun and blow her away.
Actually per the Heller decision, this IS exactly why...personal defense. I found this interesting: Figure the dispatched hung up once police made contact with her. So my guess is that it took 15 minutes for the LEOs to show up. Remember, when seconds counts, the police are minutes away.
You don't need the second amendment in order to use reasonable force against and intruder where there is an immediate IMO. Contrary to popular myth, this would have been permissable in the UK as well had the mother had the mother legally owned the guns, since her life was in immediate danger (i.e. the offender broke down the door and came at her with the knife). So I think it's a bit misleading to imply that without the second amendment mother and daught would both be worm food by now.
Clearly she got lucky - as matter of fact it was more likely that the intruders would take her own gun away from her than her successfully use it to defend herself. Indeed, is it fair that the guys breaking in were shot and killed? Isn't that an escalation of force? She had no way of knowing she was in danger. She's lucky she didn't shoot herself. No one should be trusted with the ability to kill another human being. She'll likely be traumatized for years now, and have severe psychological issues due to her murderous rampage. Yes, I'm kidding. It's just fun to see bullshit out there before the usual idiots start talking about restricting gun rights, so you can see how ridiculous it looks.
The Second Amendment allowed her to have the gun. In the UK it might be permissible, but she'd almost certainly not have had the gun to save herself.
I'm surprised it's gone this far without at least one of you asking "Is she hot?" Let the MILF fantasies begin...
Uh huh. And what are those, garamet? You know she didn't use them, so you must know what they are, right? Otherwise you'd be talking out of your ass just to take a cheap shot at people who bother being more prepared than you, and I know that can't possibly be the case.
That's the crux of the problem right there. She most likely would not have been allowed to own the shotgun. Well if it was a family of 4 then that would be the right number. Or if the one shooter competed, then 4 would be about the right number. Or they may be a collector since those are 4 different rifles.
I know what the hell she was doing. The "I don't need to know anything substantial about guns to know the ones that look scary are bad, and you don't need one" types need to have their shame highlighted at every opportunity.
No. No, no, no, no, NO! The Second Amendment - indeed the entire Consititution - does not "allow" us anything. It recognizes "natural" rights that are already there. You know, "endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights" and that whole deal. The Second Amendment recognizes a natural right and restricts the government from infringing upon it.
Don't know about the UK, but in the Crown Colony of the Cayman Islands the law requires gun owners to have them locked in a safe place and per licensing requirements they have to have them inspected once a year by the cops. Typical gun grabbing sentiment. The bad guys have the good guys outgunned, so you make things tougher on law abiding citizens. I would love to ask the Police Commissioner (AKA "Gun Grabber in Chief) how many crimes have been committed by people with properly licensed guns. I suspect the answer is zero and that being the case I would follow up by asking what is the point of making it more difficult on law abiding people, when its the scofflaws who are the problem...
Well, UA was expecting me to say "assault rifles." Sorry to disappoint. I'm sure you guys will spend the rest of the afternoon arguing with each other about what they are or aren't, so knock yourselves out.
