Jamie really didn't kill King Aerys because he was losing.

King Aerys being insane planned to burn Kings Landing to the ground. He was attempting to do that when Jamie killed him. If anything Jamie saved the city.

And really after watching the brutality of King Aerys which is what sparked the rebellion against the king I can't blame him for killing him anyway.

After all if you go around burning people alive that piss you off eventually you're going to get a rebellion.

I've seen the first two episodes of season 2 now and they're both well done though they badly mangle the order of events in A Clash of Kings. Still, the basic events seem to be correct even if their order has changed. Ros, the red headed prostitute from Winterfell, seems to be taking over the roles of Chataya and Alayaya in Tyrian's story line (which is a little weird because it would imply Little Finger's involvement) but I guess it makes sense in a TV show not to introduce new characters if you can avoid it. In a book you can have dozens and dozens of new people but in a show you want to reusing existing characters where you can.

I never caught GOT during the first season, but I just picked it up on Blu-Ray and will get caught up before delving into Season 2.

I know that from having read the book series.

The TV series hasn't fully established Jaime's motivation, IIRC.

But what I had said was that he did kill Aerys when it was clear Aerys was losing, as Ned Stark stated in S.1.

This is not to say that Jaime killed Aerys BECAUSE Aerys was then losing.

So I assume that "LittleFinger" a slam against him by the whores, mocking the size of his johnson? Or is there some other meaning?

This clip never gets old. Watching Joffrey get slapped over and over again is just memorizing.

I like that little whimper he sequels out everytime he's slapped like the bitch he is. :tasvir: First Tyrion, then the Queen last episode. He whimpered again when Ariya had him pinned down, but it wasn't as enjoyable without the slap.

Is it just me or does anyone else get the feeling that Shay, Tyrion's hooker is more than meets the eye? Maybe Tywin didn't want her in King's Landing because he didn't trust her and knows Tyrion could be led by his penis? Can't wait for Sunday!

He's a minor noble from a part of the kingdom called "The Fingers" which are basically a series of long, thin peninsulas. He's also small in stature, hence "Littlefinger".

In S. 1 there was a scene where Roz and another whore were going at it, and Littlefinger criticized them (a scene that was echoed in the S.2 premiere with Roz giving the criticism this time.) Roz then invites Littlefinger to join them, and he responds that he's saving himself. He goes on to explain about his love for Catelyn.

So presumably Littlefinger "doesn't get high on his own supply," and doesn't sleep with whores. But then, as Ned Stark learns, you shouldn't necessarily trust Littlefinger...

I don't think it was anything in particular about Shae, but rather the propriety of taking a whore to court. Having a whore around when you're just a playboy son of the richest family in the kingdom is one thing. Having one around when you're supposed to be the second-most powerful person in them is something else.

I take it you haven't read the books? There is a brief connection between Tywin and Shay but it doesn't end well.

Yeah. Don't spoil future episodes or what happens in future books.

And Raoul it said HBO GO on the video but I acquired it from someone I know. When I went to the site I couldn't find it.

I like how they change the opening credits each episode though so people who haven't read the books and studied the maps can get an idea of the geography and what is happening where.

Her background isn't really explored in the books other than to say she hates her father, doesn't want anyone saying anything bad about her mother, and that she wasn't poor growing up. Oh, and that she's "foreign" (she refuses to say more).

What Is Dead May Never Die

They've eliminated several characters from the books and killed one who survived in the books so they're changing things. I can't blame them for consolidating a few characters of similar type since GRRM does enjoy introducing new characters by the dozen and having so many names to keep track of might scare off the casual watcher but still it does change the story line a bit and might lead people down the wrong path. In the books guessing who is doing what to whom behind the scenes is a big part of it so turning three characters into one kind of makes it harder to tell who is working for whom.

    Nope.

You stole that threads purpose by bumping this crap thread so that one's going to die off and this one will be the main thread now.

Future stuff? Speculation? Stuff from the books? Spoilered.

Already shown episodes? Not going to get the spoiler treatment.
