    More like a laughable take.

Obama got elected because of five things:

#1 People were sick of Bush and the Republicans.

#2 He was during the campaign a slick talker. Hope and Change was a brilliant thing to talk about. It was complete fraud when you zoomed in and looked into the details but it sure looked great when you zoomed out.

#3 The media fell in love with him and refused to properly vet him nor go after any weakness while of course they were busy slaughtering McCain and Palin.

#4 Lots of people did vote for him based on his skin color.

#5 He had a better campaign team then McCain.

He's a failure of a President. He was able to coast for four years by blaming everything on Bush and basically campaigning for four years but as we can see everything is now starting to fall apart. And it's all on him. Can't blame Bush anymore.

Of course he's now blaming the people under him for not telling him......

Guys a major league fraud and the Democrats will look back and regret he ever became President because of the damage he's doing to the party.

This sounds remarkably similar to why a few people badly miscalled the 2012 election. Keep deluding yourself and prepare for a long time in the wilderness.

With Congress more interested in grandstanding and spectacle than fact finding it makes sense to take the Fifth.

But the bitch is obviously guilty of some malfeasance.

    Lois Lerner?

    I knows that name!

Why she was "promoted" from the IRS exempt organizations director spot to director of IRS’ Affordable Care Act office.

She's done such a good job these last few years.......

She's a government employee, and a high-level manager no less. There should be no asserting of the Fifth. If there is, she should be discharged on the spot.

Her decisions as our employee should be an open book to Congressional oversight.

What? Constitutional protections don't extend to government employees?

Surely the Second Amendment (TM 2013, NRA) extends to everyone, right?

Nope. If she wants to exercise her Fifth Amendment right, she can resign first and return to the status of private citizen. :diacanu:

As a government employee she made decisions regarding taxpayers and organizations.

If she is taking the 5th for her actions on the job she is basically saying that she broke the law she was charged with following but doesn't want to admit to what she did that was wrong.

I have to take issue with this on one point:

Refusing to speak should not be automatically assumed to be an admission of culpability. That rather defeats the purpose of Fifth Amendment protections.

On the other hand, I will put this forward:

As a government employee, she is accountable to her employer. Her employer is not the government. Her employer is the American people.

She's not under arrest. She is, to employ a metaphor, being questioned by H.R. on behalf of her employer. She may not have to speak about who fucked up and how, but refusal to do so should mean summary dismissal from her job.

She doesn't want to tell us what happened? Fine. Fire the bitch. And since she won't have been tried on it before, if charges and trial come to the forefront of necessity, she won't be able to claim protection against double jeopardy.

Her best bet right now is to reverse course and sing like a fucking canary.

And, just by the by, ConfederateFop, why do you insist on responding to my posts in rep comments rather than out in the open? Has it not occurred to you yet that I'm just going to dig them out into the open and respond as if you'd put them there in the first place, anyway?

On what level do you think that what you're doing is in any way clever?

We have a long ways to go before Obama passes Richard Nixon. But it is interesting how non-chalant the left is over all this. Playing team sports tends to blind reason.

The reason I'm saying she's admitting it is the way she's taking the fifth.

She oversaw this department that did all this stuff and she made multiple decisions, has said she broke no laws and yet she refuses to answer any questions.

That just screams, "I'm in deep shit."

So this thread is replete with defense of the IRS partisan thuggery on the basis that liberal/progressive/whatever-the-next-alias-will-be groups were subjected to the same shit.

Well, guess what? No, they fucking weren't.

It'll be interesting, in a pathetic way, to see how Drudge and the Repugs manage to keep this manufactured, artificial "scandal" in the news cycle over the coming week.

I'm not sure which is more hilarious, the IRS thing or the data mining hysteria.

LOL! Drudge can't keep his scandals straight. On the one hand the data mining "scandal" is the end of freedom & liberty, but on the other hand the tech nerd whistleblower is a chinese spy who has committed treason. So which is it - traitor or hero?
