I keep saving it for special occasions. It's taken me six years to drink half of it.

If that 's how much you're paying for Bud or Miller, you're getting ripped off.

A sixer of much better beer than that runs about that much here.

Yeah, Bud and Miller are about $8 a six pack here. The Miller-Coors Brewery is only a few miles from here, too, so I don't know why it's so expensive.

My beer is only 4 dollars a six pack of 16 ounce cans. And it's a lot better than Bud or Miller.

The Miller plant brews all of the Pabst products also. Which are a bit cheaper.

It doesn't take much to accomplish that.

They recently started selling Hamm's beer again around here. Miller bought the brand, it's a bit HARSH for me.

Hamm's is shit, but Miller can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned. Years ago they bought one of the best breweries ever (Celis Brewing out of Austin) and shut it down. :ualbert:

From what I read, Celis was sold back to the family, they should be brewing beer again here soon.

That's fantastic news. I tried some of that Michigan Celis and it sucked. Nowhere near as tasty as the original.

Celis Pale Bock was my favorite beer for a long time until those Miller bastards took it away.

I drank that some when I was younger and didn't know what good beer was.

Now, it's mainly a hipster beer.

It's VERY hard to find here, But as you may know, Pabst owns Lone Star also. One of the 23 brands they do own.

Occasionally I like a Bud from a can. But I also drink Trappist ales that go for $20 a bottle (25 oz). There are a lot of ways to enjoy beer, and though I tend to discriminate in favor of the higher end beers, the best beer is one that you like and is in your hand.

    [edit]
I used to like Celis White. Good to know they're back in business!

Black is my casual, every day type scotch (not that I drink scotch every day). When I go better than that, I prefer the single malts.

I live on a fixed income, I don't have that kind of money to buy $20 bottles of beer. I wish I did..

It used to taste...okay...for a cheap American industrial beer, but the last time I had one it tasted like shit. No wonder, really, since it's owned by Pabst.

Don't get the wrong idea -- the Trappist are reserved for special occasions. Right now I'm drinking a Harpoon Harvest Ale.

I'm with Gul, except not 20 dollars for a bottle. I'll go up to 10-12 for a bomber usually.

That said, I'll drink a PBR or a Coors Light if that's what's around.

Also, as much as people say PBR is a hipster beer, the hipsters seem to be getting really into craft beer.

I won't turn down a Lone Star or Coors Light if it's offered and there's nothing better available, but I don't buy the stuff myself.

If you give me a pricey beer I;ll drink it, but I am not a fan of dark or bitter beers, to me they are too bitter. Yuengling is OK. Also Higher Alcohol beers like strong ales upset my stomach. I had a gastric by pass years ago and anything really strong just tears me up.

They buy Steel Reserve here, it's 8.1% alcohol and taste like turpentine. 24 ounce cans are 69 cents

Coors light is expensive here, a 24 pack is 19 bucks, a 12 pack is 9 to 11 bucks.
