So, here's how it went down in the comics if you want to know... So, yeah, all of that was way too graphic for TV.
I saw this elsewhere yesterday and figured the show had diverged from the comic quite a bit with the governor.
No explanation at all, no. I think I said before, when he had the long hair and beard a couple episodes back, I thought they were going to morph him into that guy, but no.
Yeah, everything I hear and see about the comics honestly sounds bad. I'm glad they're diverging from it.
My only issue is that they are following them just close enough that the comic idiots on other forums are constantly spoiling stuff with no warning.
Daryl has never been in the comic. Some jokingly theorize he may in fact be the dimensional catalyst that creates the TV universe.
Just watched it. Great episode. Favorite moment? Mitch, driven out of the tank by Daryl's grenade, runs into Daryl and is, like, uh, mercy? And Daryl's, like, fresh out, dude. Isn't dead in the comics?
How do you figure the governor's storyline is dead? Shaky gun hand pulling a trigger - that's not a "show stopper" by any means.
I don't know why you're all talking in spoilers. Anyone who hasn't seen the episodes shouldn't be in this thread because how can you discuss a damn episode you haven't seen yet? Incidentally I've yet to see the last three episodes of last season or any of this season. I've fallen out of watching TV and I can't seem to get back to it. Spoilers don't bother me though. I do plan to get caught up this week though. Now the comics? Yes that should be spoiled because the comics do have an influence on the show's future somewhat.
I prefer to talk in spoilers for at least a day or two after the show runs live. People get busy and watch it on DVR a little bit later. Yeah, maybe they shouldn't be clicking in here, but hell, it's just a common courtesy....
Actually it's common courtesy to not come into a thread when you haven't seen the episode and expect everyone to hide everything they are saying. Have you guys looked at the posts? No one who hasn't seen the episode can really participate since almost everything is under a spoiler tag anyway.
Meh...it's their choice to click or not click the spoiler tags, just like it's their choice to enter this thread at their own risk if they're behind on the episodes. Are you really griping about having to click a few "Toggle Spoiler" buttons...?
I generally stay out of this or any teevee series thread until I'm caught up on the most recent episode. I generally don't spoiler things, either, because I think everybody should do that, too, but for some reason I got caught up in the tagging.
A few? Almost every post has a spoiler code in it. I specifically stay out of threads until I've caught up with eps on my DVR. My biggest concern was assholes on Facebook posting who dies in an episode. That I can't avoid.
This thread title says there will be spoilers, so anyone coming in without being up to date is taking the risk.
What an episode that was, no weeks of build up with Rick& co knowing it was coming, just bang done and dusted. As with most shows there was obvious elements of suspend your brain - - govenor just in with new group, leaders all wind up dead, within days of taking charge he has everyone onside with the murderous plan - smash the tank through the fence rather than the easier to repair gate. Once you take the prison you are still fucked - Rick stood down a few metres from themob, firefight breaks out and not one person can shoot him. Forgetting that, it was still good all action. Quite shocking in 2obvious parts. Not sure how michone can cut heads and limbs off bodies at will, but gov can only take a chunk out of hershels neck. Gov really needs to be dead, he surely cant take a sword through the heart, one in the eye and two seasons of battles. Bringing him back will just make him a super villian
