    yum....i like chilies!!!!!
not sure what 'A Traditional New Year's Day Meal' is... dad used to have a piece of chook and roast veg - same as a regular sunday but with chook instead of a vegetarian burger. as a kid i cant recall eating anything spec at NY's....

i am aimed at bean chili tonight, as i have already got the beans and chilies in soak ready! may dessert it off with a pear/banananananana smoothie.

Ooh, there's gas food if I'm right. Like a good, extra nose-running, eye-watering spicy kimchi.

Maddie, Here in the US a traditional New Year's Day meal consists of: fish or pork, black eyed peas, greens & cornbread. For fortune, good luck, good health & prosperity. Foods that shouldn't be eaten on New Year's Day is beef, crustaceans & poultry.

Hwuh? Which region is this tradition from? I've lived mostly in the southwest, so I'm not saying it's not a tradition somewhere in the U.S., I've just never heard of it.
