...Have you considered taking Garamet off "ignore"? She might say something you could interpret as threatening and then ban her.
Here's a serious question for Ancalagon: how many lines of code would it take to create a Volponebot that's indistinguishable from Volpone? Three? Four? It can't be much more than that.
He'd then have to ban himself for agreeing with me on virtually everything except How to Micro-Manage a Message Board.
Wouldn't work. While she may be as annoying a poster as Castle, her trolling is spite based, not stupidity based. I doubt she'd do all the stupid shit Castle did to earn his ban, nor would she double down on the stupid afterwards like he's done.
Volpone, I want to thank you for compelling Anc to reveal the real reason behind the Ignore. He's confused me with that other ginger...
That's nice. See, Anc? Garamet says she is perfectly capable of saying something stupid enough to get herself banned and that you're confusing her with someone else.
Do we ban for senility? Is senility really that different than stupidity? And stupidity is what got Visionrazor banned...
Stupidity? That's a bannin'. Spitefulness? That's a bannin'. Senility? Yup, that's a bannin'. Making a ginger cross? You betcha that's a bannin'.
This thread is a marvel. So much more potential than the usual LCpl Crybaby whining "Why can't WF be run the way I want it??" First a bit of ancient history. To my knowledge, Ancalagon has never, since the beginning of WF, replied to any of my posts on any topic whatsoever. I first noticed this over a decade ago when I started a thread asking for legal advice. This was the time when Enterpriser was threatening to sue me for “Defaming his name in TNZ.” Patently ridiculous, of course. I asked him whether “Enterpriser” was his legal name. Had he trademarked it, copyrighted it? No? Then would he have the courtesy of giving me his RL name so that when I received notice of the lawsuit I’d know who it was from? Naturally he disappeared faster than a fart but, still being fairly new to this Internet business, I wanted some ammunition (it was rumored that Enterpriser had been at least a paralegal once upon a time) for when the next lunatic came along. So I threw the question out to those on WF with a legal background, and was advised by several posters “Ah, don’t worry about it,” which was about what I expected. But Ancalagon had impressed me as having a quick mind, and I was hoping he’d contribute. He did not. That’s when I noticed that, more often than not, he and I would post virtually the same thing on a given topic, and I’d comment on his posts but he either didn’t read or didn’t care to comment on mine. No biggie. But that was his pattern…until he took charge. Then suddenly I was on the agenda. Fine, but don’t be so obvious about it. You’ve been trained in this sort of thing. You can do better. It would be funny to see what excuse he did use if he decided to ban me. Almost as funny as the time Lisa banned me from TBBS for “picking on Enterpriser.” (This was after Enterpriser started a thread in TrekLit specifically trolling me; Enterpriser got a warning, I got a week’s vacation.) I don’t believe Ancalagon is the New Lisa, but ya never know. Cue Volpone’s face-biting meme. Don’t overuse it, Snookums. You opened this can of worms. Be man enough to accept the consequences.
Not so I've noticed (UA left of his own accord). But give a ginger any kind of authority on this board and Shenanigans. I don't formally keep track; I just notice things. Unlike Gillian Taylor, I don't have a photographic memory, but I do see words...or the absence thereof.
^Frinstance, I don't remember whether you or Black Dove originated the "You know exactly what you're doing wrong!11!" meme, but I notice Archangel's adopted it, too. At least none of you have tried Bear's "You're not worthy of my time [although I've just spent three paragraphs flaming you]" variation, but they all signify the same thing.
Yeah, I know. Guess I feel sorry for Volpone. This is the first thread of his in a looong time that's generated more than a handful of replies. The struggle for relevance endures...
I heard some medical journal said it's bad to use Crisco for some reason. The part that strikes me funny about that, there was no conspiracy theory that went with it saying the scientists were "in the pocket of big Astroglide".
