I've seen it on a big screen with audio. Yep, fan-made. All sorts of giveaways. Harrison Ford's "You guys got room in this battle for an old war horse?" line is from Expendables 3.

The guy who shared it admits that it's fake, so that's also a giveaway.

It's already confirmed fake so doesn't matter, but a couple of lines of that dialogue come from the Force Unleashed. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of where all the individual parts come from.

The Harrison Ford line apparently comes from The Expendables 3.

Cool that Princess Leia might figure in the movie (which makes sense given she was clearly part of the plot to steal the Death Star plans), but Felicity Jones is too old (31) for the role. Carrie Fisher was 19. That's too big a stretch to plausibly be the same character.

You know what would be a cool way to do it? Tell the story as flashbacks while we follow Leia during the events of ANH.

Open with a groggy Leia regaining consciousness as she's being hauled up by Stormtroopers and led through the Tantive IV to Darth Vader. Her present arc can be about her resisting interrogation, torture, and the destruction of her planet, all while remembering the events of the bounty hunters stealing the plans. End the story with her recalling the final success of the bounty hunter plot, while, in the present, Leia has resolved to face her execution with dignity. End with Luke Skywalker busting into her cell.

To be fair, Fisher aged about ten years between episodes 4 and 5 'Cuz of her coke habit, so if it were related to Empire, it may not be such a stretch. :borg:

You know, the title Rogue One is quite interesting. Does that mean it will focus on Wedge Antilles?

Are they competing with Marvel to see who can induce franchise fatigue faster?

Hey, so far, I'm fucking loving how Disney is handling Star Wars.
They put an immediate halt to the 3-D re-releases of the shitty prequels that no one asked for.
They killed that miserable looking "Star Wars Detours".
They're putting out the un-fucked classic trilogy.
The sequels have the original cast, which is what we wanted more of right after Jedi, goddammit.
They shot Old Yeller when it came to the EU (I loved the first couple batches, but that was really a mess at the end).
Altogether, just the first year of this deal, they've undone all our scars from creepy Unca George with a dermal regenerator, and erased the trauma with a neuralizer.
They couldn't be doing better if they were actual genies.

Yeah, but I do agree with Archangel that three in 18 months risks over saturation. But I'm such a huge Disney fan (hell, I even own a Disney time share), that I don't believe they are capable of fucking it up. So I figure they are doing these rapid fire releases to take advantage of pent up demand, and will then settle in to something closer to every two years.

Okay, a weekly TV series like Arrow, Flash, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, or Breaking Bad, isn't over-saturation, but one film every six months is?

Mind you, I'm planning on skipping opening weekend for Episode VII. I'm hopeful that it'll be a good film, and everything I've seen says it'll be a good film, but I tend not to like JJ Abrams movies, so I'm going to wait until I get all the spoilery details before I go. That will determine if I watch the other films, either on Netflix or in the theater.

Movies aren't really comparable to TV shows IMO. They are much more about spectacle and event making. Every six months for a film series is really frequent.

It's starring Felicity Jones, who I suspect would make a good Leia from the picture here - maybe it leads up to her capture in ANH?

Alexandre Desplat is going to score "Rogue One", making this the first Star Wars film not scored by John Williams.

Some quick research shows Desplat did the 7th and 8th Harry Potters after Williams set the tone in 1-3.
So, he can build off a Williams score.
