If you listen to the little overlapping sounds snippets, the trailer makes it pretty obviously clear that the devastation from "Man Of Steel", is the source of the distrust. Listen really carefully, it lasts one and a half seconds, and is quiet, and wedged between two other lines, but you even hear "they brought their war here".
if they really wanted to be bold they could show that someone close to Bruce - Vicky Vale to throw out a name - was one of those killed.
But considering who these people are, they'll probably say it was Bruce' previously thriving parents.
I heard an estimated killed or injured figure for civilians in the film of two million. That'll piss a lot of people off..
Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince at some fancy dress thingy. ...could..could they be doing the Batman Wonder Woman romance from the animated series!!??
Lex looks idiotic. Is this really the outcome of extreme vanity coupled with outstanding intelligence? An inability to have your hair done properly?
Yes, but can't he get a good one? He's Lex fucking Luthor! If he wants hair, he should be able to cure baldness with a bit of effort! At least let's allow him a better stylist.
I can only assume that's from a scene when it matters to Lex to look like the rest of the schmucks inhabiting the planet. No doubt some evil scheme requires the charade.
I so hoped one of the things they'd actually have a chance at getting right would be giving us a smart, formidable Luthor. If this guy comes up with a convoluted real estate scheme, I am going to whack someone.
Maybe some evil geniuses go through a non-conformist stage? So far one constant remains for me - the convoluted age/time-frame shit going on. It concerns me.
As in Man of Steel, the Superman costume looks like ass. They really need to lose that stupid waffle pattern and get the colors right.
Could be lots of reasons. Donald Trumpism Arrogance of being powerful enough for them to do what they like Even playing Canute: Luthor: "Gentlemen, how do I look?" Suits: "Excellent sir, a good choice in style and colour" Luthor: "Hm. I look a dick. I hired you to advise, not to agree, if I wanted Yes Men I can get them cheaper than you. 60 minutes. Your resignations or your lives."
The latter would be great. But the former would, for me, go against everything that makes this character fascinating. He is a lot of things, but stupid he is not.
Arrogance !== stupid. I hate perfect characters, and even the smartest of people can do stupid things. As humans we come with all kinds of hang ups from experience and personality, and those are what round us off. A brilliant Luthor, but one with a misplaced sense of style, isn't a stupid character, it's one with a character flaw, and one that can be leveraged. Otherwise you end up stories that either require unexplained external forces, explained external forces or dumb luck stopping him eventually winning.
All true. But IMO, Luthor's arrogance should fail him on a grand scale, not in such ways as to make him a laughing stock in his daily life.
Agree with both of you. His arrogance should be his downfall, and looking like a slob seems out of place. However, we don't really know the reason he appears that way.
I (among many others, I might add) thought that Brandon's suit from Superman Returns was too dark. Henry's makes it look almost day-glo!
I know what you mean. Watching a clip from Superman Returns the other day, it seemed like Routh's suit was almost too bright! I think Superman looks better if the blue is dark and the red is bright and saturated. More like Cavill's costume as it was in real life:
Wouldn't ALL Batman would really have to do to beat Superman is make a new Batsuit made out of Kryptonite, or having alot of it incorporated into a Batsuit, plus adding Kryptonite shielding to the Batmobile. Not to mention lead as well! Be useful both on a Batsuit & on or in the Batmobile to foil Superman's X-ray vision.
