So what do you recommend? Internment camps for anyone of middle eastern descent?

I know you're shocked at the events in Paris, but pull yourself together.

I recommend that all borders be closed and that Russia and NATO proceed to carpet bomb the living hell out of any areas under ISIS control in the Middle East until all are dead.

There are hundreds of thousands of civilians in those areas. The Soviet method won't work. Other than that, I agree. Legion boots on the ground NOW. That's why France keeps those psychos.

Bombing won't win the war against ISIS.

Foreign Legion isn't nearly large enough.

Occupying and rooting out ISIS from Syria and Iraq would probably take on the order of 500,000 troops.

What's the ratio of ISIS to non-combatants (if that's the right term) in the areas they occupy? 1:10? 1:100? How much collateral damage are you willing to accept? Also, don't you think this reaction is exactly what ISIS is hoping for?

An AP reporters says a policeman reports that the inside of the concert hall is carnage. When the police went in the terrorist threw bombs in among the hostages. :(

It's our involvement in this region of the world that keeps biting us (the West) in the ass. I wish we would just get the fuck out of the Middle East and let the Arabs slaughter each other if that's what they want to do. We've been fucking around in that region since WW1 because of our dependence on their oil. We need to massively change our strategy towards the Middle East, withdraw all troops, quit the military campaigns and let the fucking Arabs sort out their own problems. Or better yet, let Russia deal with them. Sooner or later the conflict will envelope Turkey and that's the best fucking thing that could happen since it'll mean Turkey will finally get its finger out of their ass and sort that region out. But sadly we'll never leave that godforsaken region as long as our addiction to Arab oil and gas remains, and our problems with these Islamic terrorists will persist.

I see your point though I doubt ISIS is worried about western reaction or overreaction.

You really think violence in the Middle East is going to stay contained in the Middle East?

Forgot 9-11? The U.S. had basically washed its hands of Afghanistan for a decade before 9-11 yet the Afghan based Al Queda given sanctuary by the Taliban still killed nearly 3,000 people.

The United States was fighting the Muslims years before the first oil well was ever drilled and more than 100 years before Israel was founded.

7000 well trained psychopaths vs. 40000 boys who feel big and strong when they murder defenseless victims? That's a fight I'm willing to bet money on.

Of course we don't know if IS did it. Seems logical, though.

These mass murdering, sociopathic, filthy animals have declared war on Western civilization. Will this finally be the moment when libtard notions of tolerance & appeasement give way to safety and saving lives?

ISIS, along with any supporters, must be wiped out, all of them. Every. Single. One. Down to the last man and woman. The bombs, the biggest we have short of nukes, must start falling. Boots on the ground with one goal and goal only - total obliteration of ISIS and any other radical islamic forces.

Muslims with ties to radical islam, wherever they live, must be immediately rounded up and detained. There is no other way to ensure the safety of the populace.

Appeasement, as a policy, has failed. It failed in the run-up to WWII, and it has failed here.

Will the French stand up and fight? Or roll over because people like RickDeckard start whining about civil rights and diversity?

We were fighting Muslims in 1848? I must've been asleep during history class. Perhaps you mean the Barbary pirates? They might've been Muslim, but they were pirates first. Arrrrg.

Over 100 dead at the concert hall. Still hope for a number from panic. Wouldn't be surprised since storming such a place without preparation or plan must go wrong.

We can't really do that, appealing though it might seem. First, as you rightly note, there is the oil. It matters too much for us to ignore. Then, think about the strategy. It's pretty much what we did in Syria (and I'll admit to supporting the idea). That resulted in ISIS and spill over to other countries. Do you really think we could contain a conflict like this from spreading even further?

From the reporting I heard, what the reporters took to be the sound of breaching charges was actually a bunch of bombs the terrorists tossed in among the crowded hostages.

Yea, seems like we'll be having fun tonight. I live relatively close to the hotel where all those big hitters reside and I'm hearing sirens. I guess the 1st District (where the Syria talks are happening) won't be much fun tomorrow. Good that only tourists go there anyway.

That might work if those 40,000 murderers will stand and fight in the open.

    They won't.

Possibly. If the Kurds finish securing the last ISIS area on the Turkish border, ISIS is bottled up on the Syrian side. They are blocked to the north in Iraq by the Kurds, and in the east by the Iraqi army and Shia militias, while Saudi Arabia and Jordan hold the southern border. If they're effectively prevented from escaping in any numbers, then they can be destroyed in place.

They will if they're fighting "the armies of Rome". They're following an Islamic script for the apocalypse in which they almost all die as they get pushed back to Jerusalem, where Allah will intervene and destroy all the enemies of Islam, everywhere.

Still a tall order with none of the western nations willing to make a large scale commitment of military forces

Elected political leaders are not. A Putin would. Or countless other thugs. But a democratic leader generally won't.
