Wouldn't a Playboy spread be celebrated as empowering in our modern, progressive culture? Or is that only for women who pull the correct lever in the voting booth?

In progressive culture, perhaps, depending on one's stance on objectification. But we're not talking about progressives; we're talking about the crowd that wants to fight pornography as a public health crisis, remember?

Melania never did porn. She was a model. They do things like Sports Illustrated swimsuit covers. In contrast, Hillary could be on the cover of Mad Magazine or maybe National Geographic.

Trump and the people who surround him don't really strike me as the typical Republicans who would be against something like Playboy magazine.

I don't know about how many guns her people keep in her compounds, but she did have an e-mail server full of top secret intelligence in her closet. Pretty much everyone seems to have hacked it.

Probably. I've heard his running mate described as being an evangelical, so that's probably meant to help them with that. Couldn't tell you who they would have preferred since I honestly don't give a damn, but I've noticed that a lot of the "establishment" Republicans seem to hate Trump as much as anyone else because he really isn't one of them. Their poster child would probably be the last guy they put up, Romney.

I doubt many rank-and-file Republicans know a lot about the platform or what Trump stands for. Exactly the same for the Democrats. As much as journalists and interested people like to think everyone is aware of things, it's not true.

Having time to learn and evaluate more than just the headlines is privilege incarnate.

My father in law is a Baptist preacher and he is voting for Trump. He says if elected Trump is only going to take the bows and live it up as the public face of the administration while Pence and the cabinet run things.

The double standard is when somebody says that pornography and nudity are bad, but then embraces somebody who posed nude for a photo shoot because she happens to belong to the "right" political party. I favor naked women, so I have no problem with Melania's background as a model. That's a consistent position, see the difference?

Basically the left assumed she had a speech writer that screwed the pooch. The left found Melania refreshing. What the left found amusing were the contortions of Trump's handlers trying to spin the error.

I doubt he does know. Probably more hope than anything else.

But there is virtually no reason for a Christian to vote for Hillary Clinton so it makes sense to at least vote where you have some hope of things turning out all right.

After all, for many of us it comes down to the Supreme Court and we hope that Trump would nominate Justices who will not slam the progressive agenda down the throats of people who believe in traditional values.

The left found Melania refreshing until it comes downn to the race. She'll have mud slinging her way as their media lap dogs start to go insane on the though of a Trump presidency.

There's nothing more misogynistic or racist than a democrat when they blow up. It's going to be great theater.

I hope all the Trump supporters are watching the convention very closely. This clusterfuck of unleashed chaos is what you can expect if your boy makes it to the White House.
