Hey, even a broken clock is right at least twice a day. I don't have to agree with MF to see validity in what he says. I'm pretty disappointed, too. I, too, thought shooter was a more level-headed and reasonable person. I thought Anna would have learned from how the mods acted over at TrekBBS acted and not do the same kind of things, but That's where we're at now.

Why did @Anna ban gturner last night? What crime did he commit between when he was allowe access to the board yesterday and the time of his banning?

This. There are things here that need a fundamental change. Banning gturner was the start of that change. It wasn't just one rule that he broke, as people keep seeming to look for. I know some of you remember Enterpriser. The man fucked things up on TrekBBS for the longest time because he skirted the rules *just enough* not to get banned, but was able to make people miserable. After years of that, Bonz finally banned his ass, and the air began to clear almost immediately. Gturner was banned because he was doing the same thing. We tried to go easy and just put him in the Violet Room (which was its original purpose and you can see that in the rules the day we posted the new forum), but that just caused more trouble. So we decided banning him was the decision to make. That is why he was banned. That is the answer.

He's gone.

The mods weren't lying, he has been repeatedly warned in the past. He was lying when he said he didn't know why he was restricted to the Red Room, because he was tagged by me, and I saw him reviewing the Violet Room Help Desk thread. He knew exactly what was happening, but instead he chose to play some people for fools. Look how many people he gave access to his account. This was his perfect opportunity to push his bullshit as far as it could go.

Did we handle some things poorly? Damned right. I do get frustrated when I try to speak as plainly as possible, and the response I get is "FASCIST!". I know not everyone is being that way, and I'm talking to you like I would a friend. The shit stirrers, I don't care, because they're not satisfied ever, and never will be. Their goal is to fuck things up, and if that means undercutting trust in the admins, that's what they do. Hell, it's easy to foster paranoia here. It's Wordforge.

Now we can move on from here and be better, or the assholes who love to stir up shit can keep stirring up shit. You know their motives, but you have to decide whether or not you think it's worth the entertainment factor, or whether Wordforge can grow and prosper as TBBS did.

Apparently, gturner has turned his friends against him and caused him to bleed from his vagina. The pain has made him quite irrational, so stay out of his way or you might end up like Ron Paul and Volpone!

I don't know why Ron Paul was banned, but Volpone decided racial slurs in the Help Desk, and apparently someone said Media Central, was helpful to whatever cause he's pushing right now. I warned him for it, and I think he was warned in MC, which was enough to trip a week ban. I think.

From what I've been reading in the 50 or so threads this has inspired, you guys are digging your heels in pretty hard in response to the usual crew of douche-forge and their shit flinging. But you're also ignoring a bunch of us who agree that this has snowballed from bad to worse by giving them a valid matter of principle to throw a tantrum over.

The board is dying from apathy. It has been for some time now. And that's not gturner's fault.

Look at what's been driving people away. Rep, trying to combine threads you consider to be spam (and mostly being from whoever the current whipping boy is), setting up special sub-forums for the same thing, the attitude taken toward anyone complaining about these changes. Cool, now dial that shit back. Or are you happy not having Uncle Albert, Captain J, and the other conservatives who have left being gone? If not, maybe you should try talking to them and asking them what might interest them in coming back.

I like Wordforge's RR being a place where all ideas can be discussed with the people here being able to say how they feel about them. I call Dinner a bigot when he says bigoted things but that doesn't mean I want him banned for them. So, no, I don't want that stuff to be cracked down on. Hell, the very first thing I did back when I first joined was to shit post with some 9/11 image macros. Got negged into oblivion for a while, but I wasn't banned or quasi-banned for it, at least. We should have those basic rules that we've always had about revealing people's personal info or literally threatening the board in the RR, and no trolling/flaming in the other forums. What I don't want is for this place to turn into TBBS all over again.
