Could be said a dozen times over about any evangelical preacher, except those fuckers don't even need to worry about tax.
How many red states receive more back per dollar they pay in? Course, those fuckers don't beg, they feel ENTITLED.
Then there's Their Boy Donnie, who bragged during the debates that he doesn't pay any taxes...based on a bankruptcy he's been capitalizing on for years.
Apparently, the guy who writes for the walking dead made a huge donation. He has been stuck at $37k for several days now so I suspect he will not reach his goal.
I am not sure but do sites like Gofundme give out the money if the goal isn't met? I thought money was only disbursed if the goal was reached.
I would imagine Kirkman could easily pay the entire thing off if he wanted. Those TV royalties and his cut of all Walking Dead merchandise = $$$$$$$$.
He's been told about that. Originally, he didn't "mismanage" his money. What happened is that his ex loped off with half of it (without telling him) and served him with divorce papers. He used the rest of the money on his own divorce lawyer. Don't know if it was acrimonious or not, but doesn't sound optimal if he had to drop a bundle. His mistake was, when he had trouble paying the taxes (insufficient funds coming in), and the IRS didn't seem to notice, was to believe that he was off of the hook. In this day and age of computers, the fucking IRS NEVER lets it go. Had he paid proper attention or got hold of them to renegotiate the payments to what he could afford, he wouldn't have been nailed with penalties. So I have some sympathy for him. He's had the heavy weight of this on him for years. And surely it is galling to have to beg for help. From what I can tell, he's not a deadbeat or a leach. Just a guy who had some shitty stuff happen to him. Stuff that could happen to anyone. Before anyone asks, I'm not exactly a fan. I met him in person once and well, I wasn't impressed. But as a human being, I feel for him now and wish him all the best. P.S. It's more than 37K. He's getting stuff to his Paypal as well.
You really believe it was a "mistake" and that he thought he "was off the hook"? He didn't think that at all. He dodged it until they came calling. In fact, he may be lying about the whole thing. How much did you give? $50?
Yeah, what a fucking heist. It's the crime of the century. He'll be eating electroplated golden lobsters on a hover-yacht in no time.
I just dont understand how it went on 20 years. Wasn't the ex wife responsible for the taxes too if they were filing jointly?
Mind you, these are the same phonies who yammer about how “If Gubmint would just get out of the way, people would help each other more.” The only fun thing about this thread is counting how many lies @TheLonelySquire can tell.
Thank you, Captain Obvious. And it's individuals helping him, and people like you and TLS mocking them. So which side are you on?
The side that doesn't tax 40% of someone's income. BUT, the reason I am makig him is that he's a big government liberal. Loves high taxes to stick it to "The Corporations," but when they come knocking on his door, he gets out his pan handling cup and sob story. And I seriously wonder how long that money sat in the account before he noticed she took all of it. It just seems so convenient she took all of his money at once.
You don't seem to mind the fact that you're paying Donnie's taxes for him because he's "smart." As if you actually were paying 40%. (If you are, you’re doing it wrong.) Again, if you’d rather pay more because corporations are paying less, that’s your lookout. But I’d be interested in your providing documentation of PAD’s ever making such a ludicrous statement. If he’s ever made any statements on individual vs corporate tax rates, it’s to point out – as we always do – that your ilk is happy to pay more so that the “job creators” can pay less. (Now make the speech about how “if we raise corporate taxes, they’ll just pass them along to the consumer.” I get a kick out of that one.) At least you’re just conjecturing, not Making Shit Up like TLS. And, again, mock PAD if you want to, but do you disagree that those helping him out are free to do so?
Absolutely, we are a generaous country. It's just i get so mad at big government liberals who would already HAVE more money and owe less in taxes if the government wasn't a bloated waste of shit. You think you are cute with our "Donnie" comments, I didnt vote for him, but when Barack Obama spent 60 million on vacations, why were you in the streets with your Pussy Hat demadning that he should give it meals on wheels or planned parenthood?
Fodder for an entirely different thread (and I’d like to see documentation RE: Obama’s vacations along with the other documentation I asked you for), because I think you may be confusing your Presidents: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...ice-budget-increase-trump-20170322-story.html https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2017/02/22/trumps-family-trips-cost-taxpayers-nearly-as-much-in-a-month-as-obamas-cost-in-a-whole-year/#5ee1993836e4 None of this, however, has anything to do with Peter David except for the fact that you don’t like him (or maybe you just thought putting his name in the thread title would garner more hits). So I’ll wait for you to prove your allegations, though I doubt you can.
Any donations I make to causes or people (and I do), I generally don't talk about publicly. I donate to help, not to get "atta boys" from anyone.
Because propaganda told you to. If no one told you who to fear and/or hate, what the fuck would you do with yourself?
Lies? I said that PD dodged the IRS. If I'm mistaken the only other possibility is that he's incredibly stupid to think that it would just "go away". Given the fact that he's suckered a bunch of morons to enrich him, I'd wager that he's not incredibly stupid. So where are the lies?
You're lawyerballing his situation as if you know him personally. You don’t. You’re the kind of rumor-monger who spreads fake news for the sake of self-aggrandizement. You also mentioned upthread that a writer who’s a member of WF made a donation but then got all coy and “I don’t think I’m allowed to answer that” when asked who it was. As anyone here who’s been paying attention knows, I’m also a copy editor. P.S. That's also as a freelancer or, to use the more PC term, “independent contractor.”
Lawyerballing? I'll forgive you for that one as you probably haven't been balled for decades. Regardless, when someone begs for money they need to come up with a plausible reason. His reasoning strains the limits of believability, to put it mildly. And you need to learn to pay attention. I never claimed that a writer who posts here donated to him. I claimed that one of our prominent posters did. I'm sure you'll figure it out if you really want to.
You did not say "prominent." But your usual "Christian values" continue to shine through. Do you believe Jesus is blind to what you post, or are you one of those “magic Christians” who believes all you have to do is invoke the incantation “I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior” and you can do and say whatever you please? Again, Proverbs 6:16-19. And don’t forget Matthew 7:1-3.
