I'd hit it! Damn, damn,damn.........okay you youngsters might not get the reference. I never thought I'd use "Florida" and "slammed" in the same breath but hey, there's a first time for everything. Actually I would hit JJ's sister! Would not hit Janet Jackson or that other woman who was their neighbor maybe or relative?
Irma says "Irma let you finish, but Irma wreck you worse than Harvey". It's all OK though, Rush Limbaugh says hurricane warnings are a liberal conspiracy, because he thinks if his morning shit is a tad loose it's a liberal conspiracy and not a consequence of opioid abuse: http://crooksandliars.com/2017/09/limbaugh-hurricane-warnings-are-liberal
There is a conspiracy. That is the one that pretends weatherman are scientists with knowledge. They predict ten paths for the storm that range from some rain to sharknado. Then every hour they alter the paths. So after about a day of predictions they have covered every possible conceivable path the storm can go and you are supposed to pick the one you think is the right one. So in the end you are the asshole who picked wrong while they gave you all the warning you need and told you exactly where the storm was going. I am pretty sure that is not helpful at all and you got paid a lot of money to put the blame on me for being wrong when you have no idea what the storm is going to do despite years of college and millions of dollars in equipment to make pretty colors on a fucking map. Weatherman are the Dayton kitchens of the the science world.
weather prognostication is not an exact science. Granted they have made great strides in meteorology, but in the end nature will do what nature wants to do. There are many variables at play in every weather event. I feel they earn their money.
They are closing schools next week in Richmond County (Augusta) to house the evacuees from coastal Georgia. Things could get ugly down around Savanna!
Ahh, to be a rubber boat salesman in south Florida this weekend. If the flooding is as bad as expected they will make a killing.
Jose isn't giving the poor coastal/island dwellers even a minute to catch their breath between hurricanes. BTW a local Irma scenario: now the "danger zone" extends far inland, all the way to Burke County which is adjacent to Richmond County (Augusta!) That's too close for comfort! Irma would have to have a bottomless gas tank to keep enough energy traveling that far inland! I'm hoping Irma hooks a hard right and stays well out into the ocean. But I was at Walmart an hour ago and the bread & water are all gone! Probably other things too, I didn't have much time to explore the store much. I might be misunderstimating Irma!
Some friends of mine were on vacation in the British Virgin Islands and had to ride out the storm. Even though their vacation was over they couldn't find a way to leave and now they're still stuck there. The roof got ripped off their hotel room.
One of them just posted on Facebook that there are no flights leaving until Monday so they'll have to ride out the next hurricane as well. They're going to need a vacation when they get back from this vacation.

So wait, yesterday it was fine to joke about the Irma when people were dieing out in the Caribbean, but now it's tracking up your way it's time to take it seriously? Poking aside, it will be Cat3 by the time it gets to Georgia. Cat3 is obviously still some pretty heavy shit but it's not in the same ball park as what went through those islands the last day or so. Those NASA images that emerged of Irma at the start of the week were horrifying but in a way beautiful. That hurricane is a proper monster!
"So wait, yesterday it was fine to joke about the Irma when people were dieing out in the Caribbean, but now it's tracking up your way it's time to take it seriously?" - Stallion something something something dark people....... http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2017/...like-hurricane-during-game-against-miami.html on a related note, way back in the day one of my Air Force supervisors said when he was at Mountain Home Idaho some smart ass called in to a local radio station requesting Queen's "another one bites the dust" and dedicating it to a certain squadron. Turns out that certain squadron just minutes before had an F-111 crash and killed both crew members. That's just wrong
Secretly I hope Irma rips all the trees out of my yard and throws them down the street. So I can put new ones. Huge ones. The best ones!
Our HOA won't let us remove the trees from our front yard so my neighbour is cutting half way through it and hoping Irma does the rest.
This is the first time there has been two cat 4 storms at the same time. There's also a cat 2 storm in the Gulf.
