Why do libtards thinks "abolish ICE" and opening the borders will win them 2020?

No one has said no one ever evaded a question in a political debate. But when you evade a question you're evading the other sides questions.

In this case, however, the Democrats don't need to worry about the Republicans. They have to worry about their own party. That is something that can not be evaded.

All I’m saying is that I don’t see this being the slam dunk y’all seem to imagine. But hey, please proceed with your circle jerk.

Let us be honest. You look at the pictures from these "protests" and it is almost exclusively illegal aliens and their anchor babies upset about the law actually being enforced. Fuck them.

It is simply not a mainstream issue even if you pretend it is.

    :wtf:

    You really aren't paying attention.

The Republicans are going to do everything they can to turn it into a mainstream issue because they sense the Democrats are weak on this issue. Democrats can't come out in full support of ICE without a risk of being attacked by their own side nor can they come out in full support of abolishing ICE because that is bad as well.

Many, many Dems can, have, and/or will support ICE and do not support open borders. If you don't live in a district with lots of illegals then this is a nonissue.

The GOP can take some of the credit when it makes this a campaign issue, but they have a lot of help from the Left's ineptitude - often when the Dems have scored a point and have created a winning topic, they double down with stupidity and by exaggerating their point they end up not just at neutral, but with a losing point. E.g. from "Donald failed to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it" to "MS13 has spark of divinity" and "immigrants are more important to us than poor americans".

From "ripping babies from mom's arms" to "open borders for all."

Lately the Dems have been better for the GOP, and accomplished more to undermine the left's chances this Fall, than a team of the best GOP strategists could hope to achieve.

Point of order - mainstream liberals DON'T advocate for either and are generally afraid to risk being perceived as too friendly to the scary brown people
It's the Progressives and the DS fringe that take those positions.

one word answer to the thread question - votes. Obviously you can have good ideas that are also vote-getters, but these are not among such good ideas.
BTW I do not appreciate you leaking my campaign strategy, and especially disparaging my talking hamburger running mate. :brood: Your talking hot dog lawyers will be hearing from my talking hot dog lawyers! :shakefist:

Abolishing ICE doesn't mean open borders. It means CBP would be responsible for border control.

This thread came up on the main forum page so I was confused as to why I couldn't see it in the Red Room.

And then I remembered that I put posters like The Flashlight, Captain X and Federal Farmer on ignore a while back... and my Wordforge experience has been so much better since. :diacanu:

This. 100x this. Donnie Smallhands' appointees are looting and pillaging Education, the FDA, the EPA...etc., etc., etc. Why not fold ICE into CBP? Answer: Because it makes sense, and because the MAGAzombies would get upsetted.

Folding ICE into CBP won’t stop the idiots.Furthermore; if policy isn’t changed, then what’s the point?

How many of them are there and how much do they scare you?

One small step for rationality, a giant step for starting the massive cleanup this administration will leave in its wake.

Oh, and fewer people held without cause, and fewer of your tax dollars spent in holding them, and...

If calling for the dismantling of ICE means someone supports entirely open borders, I suppose it also follows that politicians working to cripple the EPA are pursuing a policy of toxic waste in playgrounds?

Careful now. These are the people who worship fetuses but cut off funding for SNAP and school lunches and see nothing wrong with locking children in cages. If pouring toxic waste into playgrounds would speed the demise of the 99% so the 1% could have MORE!!!!!, they'd be all for it.
