But seriously folks - I'm horribly self-aware sometimes. My past bosses have pointed out to me that I'm perfectly open with copping to my own faults and mistakes, but I can't seem to do anything about fixing them. As for past failures, and failures as they happen, well, you can angst over them, but you can't do anything to change what happened. So I just kind of quietly say 'oh well, that's over' to myself, file it away, and try to learn to not do it again.
