El Chup was pretty open about his mental health issues. I’m not surprised @Dayton3 never read Chup’s blue room threads.
To be fair, Dayton thought they were by shootER, or Rick, or some other poster who doesn't like Dayton. They all kind of blend together after awhile.
In my defense it is difficult to keep track of the people who don't like me as the roster is a long and extensive one. I have little problem with the opposite as that list is extremely brief and compact.
Actually IIRC that exact accident killed the father of Helen Gurley Brown (Cosmopolitan founder) when he was a member of the state legislature in Arkansas
I didn't think the board as a group trashed El Chup's ex fiancée. I thought Dinner maligned her as a possible terrorist and I voiced some support for Dinner not because I agreed with him but I thought people were "piling on" in regards to Dinner. Didn't know anyone else on the board had said anything about his wife that never was. By the way, during his huge bout of anger with me accusing me of being a racist and what not regarding his wife that could've been El Chup sent me a picture of him and her together. She is indeed very beautiful. I also never knew he was obsessed with being seen as a success. I suppose I should've known that given how upset he got when I suggested I was more successful. Just shows that you never really know someone.
It was the group of jackals from 2008 that did most of it, mainly Sokar, Scorp, Volpone and that group. Most other people here either turned the other way, either because Chup was so completely unpleasant or they just didn't care about another board drama. Full offense, but that was pretty obvious to me within my first three days on the board That he sent a picture to you of all people definitely proves you as a better Master Troll than @Tererun ever was, however!
And by the way, based on the picture, assuming it was of El Chup (Barry Weir) then contrary to what has been suggested a couple of times, he was in no way overweight.
His mother responded to our thread on Facebook. She says no COD yet, but they found him dead in bed in the morning with no signs of... anything. She suspects his sleep apnia did him in. I guess we should stop speculating about suicide.
yes it does! I rarely agreed with him but he was always game for lively discussion and he didn't play favorites. And more importantly he was way too young to be dying.
I also didn't know sleep apnea was fatal. I thought worst-case scenario your body/brain would reflexively wake itself up if oxygen levels dropped too low, just like it does if your body temperature drops too low or you need to use the bathroom or whatever. Nobody in my family was ever had sleep apnea so I don't know much about it.
To be clear, people don't really die directly from sleep apnea; you aren't literally going to quit breathing in the middle of the night to the point of death. When you quit breathing, you wake up. When you wake up, you start breathing. People die from complications from sleep apnea (all of the associated conditions that sleep apnea / sleep deprivation brings on).
Damn fuck that illness! I loves me some When my head hits the pillow I expect to until my wife wakes me up because I am nearly deaf and can't hear my phone alarm. Sometimes I wake up about ten minutes before my alarm thus sparing her the trouble, but regardless my night's sleep is one long continuous until wake up time.
Yeah. It's also not always listed as the official cause of the death, because it may be something triggered by the sleep apnea which does you in. For example, the actress Divine died from a heart attack brought on by sleep apnea. Apparently, it's thought that Carrie Fisher's sleep apnea brought on her heart attack.
During apnea episodes, a person's blood pressure can go very high and trigger a heart attack. Happened to the father of a friend of mine.
Not always, cases of hypoxia resulting from sleep apnoea continuing into waking paralysis are rare but real. Pretty fucking terrifying I should think.
We used to watch "Lust in the Dust" in college. Always thought the tag line for the movie was hilarious. "He rode the west. The girls rode the rest. Together they ravaged the land."
