To be fair, last I heard, a lot of pretty smart people had the same hunch. It's possible (even likely) that there are a whole lot more people infected than we realize, who are mildly or non-symptomatic.

Of course, he's just parroting one of those pretty smart people while acting like he's the one who figured it out with that "I've got a hunch" bullshit.

Trump doesn't do hunches or listen to smart people. If a number needs to be big to be good, he'll double it. If it needs to be low to be good, he'll halve it. If no-one picks him up on this, he'll gradually inflate/deflate it further and further.

^ The opening words "Trump said..." are almost always enough to indicate that what follows is:

    1) Misleading if not downright false
    2) Stupid
    3) About how great he thinks he is, or
    4) Some absurd combination of all three.

In this case, that principle turned out to be absolutely correct.

Doesn't excuse telling people with it to go to work.

And FWIW, I read the methodology behind the 3.4% number. It's very first-pass, naïve. 2% is a better number. Most likely not "way under 1%", but 2% is still a better number than 3.4%.

Unfortunately "mild" symptoms are still as bad as the flu. Moderate in this case means "pneumonia". Severe means "needs hospitalization for pneumonia".

I doubt it. @Rincewiend's not American.

Reagan was a great speechifier, and some people actually believed he blew some biblical trumpet and the wall came a-tumblin' down.

Whatever else Your Boy Donnie has done, he's made previous bad presidents look better by comparison.

Well, he doesn't play the fiddle so I guess playing golf will have to do.

President Trump on Sunday golfed with current and former Washington Nationals at his West Palm Beach golf club, according to photos posted by some of the players.
Pitcher Patrick Corbin posted photos on his Instagram page of the outing with the caption, "So this happened today...got to golf with the President!" He included a photo of Trump signing a hat and group photos of the players in attendance.

I don't agree, I think Reagan was worse.

The ripple effect of what he did to unions and schools alone has caused more damage.
The seeds of the Christian dominionist takeover of the Republican party were planted by Reagan.
He gave the wink-wink nudge-nudge to homophobia and AIDS-phobia during the AIDS crisis, and you can't tell me that didn't multiply the amount of people that died.
And he created the Taliban and Al-Queda.

But, I actually don't know what's worse, Reagan, or the cowed Democratic party, and chicken-liver news media, that had to have, HAD to have made the calculation "he won in a LANDSLIDE!! There's nothing we can do...there's NOTHING...we can do....America is conservative...the fight is over...let's just suck his dick, and hope we aren't lynched..".

    Cuz that's what they did.

The allegedly liberal media polished his legacy, and when he died, they polished his coffin.

That's the only reason even liberals think Reagan's only sin was being gung-ho in the Cold War, and he was just this sad senile grandpa.
    They've been brainwashed.
Everyone knuckled under to the fucker in a way they don't for Trump.

Even I used to fall for it.
I went easy on him when he croaked.
It's hard to bust out of the holodeck when absolutely everyone is dedicated to keeping you there.

    He was a fucking nightmare.
    That's the reality.

And Bush Senior was a fucking war criminal.
Not as bad as his son, but pretty fucking horrible.
And everyone forgets he squirmed his way out of an impeachment same as Trump.

Hearing his knob get polished at his funeral made me want to puke too.

    "Feel better, Mike?".

    Abso-fucking-lutely!

Reagan and Bush Sr used big boy words and didn't go out their way to shit over their advisors. They got away with their shit specifically because they acted like adults and let's be honest, what passed itself off for progressive in those days made no considerations for black or brown folks. No one cared about AIDS until good, white Christian children began dying from it from blood transfusions and it still took till the 90s to even do that.

    Fuck Reagan.
