Why do I have a bad feeling that, somehow, some underhanded bullshit is going to take place with the Electoral College and the election will get handed to Trump? Did I notice something I haven't consciously sorted out yet or is that just the Political PTSD talking?

Anyway, I'm not going to 100% believe this until after the inauguration.

Some folks have been calling for the members of the EC to defy the results and opt for Trump. To me, that seems like the perfect way to start a second civil war.

I'd be extremely worried about that possibility if Biden had only gotten 270 like it looked like at first, and all it took was one faithless elector to fuck everything. I'm thinking something else. I'm thinking outside fuckery, like state or local governments interfering with the electors, or "hired help" interference, or domestic terrorism interference.

I really hope I'm being paranoid and that my intuition isn't on to something.

I'm somewhat worried about fuckery giving Trump a second term, and a lot worried about what the aftermath of that would be.

Anyway, can we impeach him again just to be sure? I think the Senate might go for it this time.

I remember that happening back in 2016. Of course, had that happened it would have meant the EC going along with the popular vote instead of against it. All I am saying is that it is only fair for the other side to make a plea to the electors to not be faithful to the party just as dems did in 2016.

Now, if it happens that they do flip someone really needs to start listening when we say dems hand the ball back to the republicans way too often when they are winning. Some of us have just seen the dems hamstring themselves so many times that we really just expect it from their star players like Biden.

The christian nut vote for a chronic liar, adulterer, con man and flat out cheat is... interesting.

Or maybe not that much. They obviously just see themselves in him.

This is absolutely the most fitting end to this ridiculous and repulsive regime. Was it incompetence, of which they've displayed an overwhelming amount?

Or simply one last grift, as someone took the money meant for the Four Seasons Hotel and transferred it to their own account, as a movement that should have been flush with cash just couldn't respond in the closing days of the election?

Ultimately it doesn't matter. Either way it's just pathetic.

It's rather typical behavior for right wing populists: they cannot and will NEVER EVER admit a mistake, let alone apologize. Trump tweeted Four Seasons. Which didn't happen. So it had to be some Four Seasons because otherwise he'd be wrong.

It's a pattern of behavior all those figures share. For example, we have Chancellor Minitrump here. Who went to some Alpine village in April that voted for him by like 90 percent. It was clearly a stunt designed to show him surrounded by jubilant fans. However, he totally forgot that little pandemic in the middle of lockdown V1.0 so no mask in sight, no distancing, no nothing. Took them 4 weeks to drag up some very obscure executive privilege law from 19hundredsnow to absolve him retrospectively. A quick apology on TV was never an option because HE cannot possibly be wrong.

All those strongmen figures are like that.

And that's what happened next to the dildo shop too.

I think Trump was on the path to re-election, then 4/6/20 hit. Why was that day so important? Because that was the day Trump, Mnuchin, Kudlow, Dobbs, Kushner, Hannity, Ingraham, Hassett, Limbaugh, and anyone else considered an “economic advisor” settled on the plan that the country had to reopen by May 1st.

People began to understand that this was not about public health policy, rather it was about doing everything possible to force people back to work, to line the pockets of the already rich.

I will put feet on the ground and volunteer. Wife and I put money where our mouths were in the general election, but GA will be rolling in dough: we need volunteers to help generate interest. @ed629 we're needed.

I can't see him making that move unless the First Daughter agreed with it, so could be interesting to see if it has any effect.
