Whatever Trump hoped (hopes?) to accomplish with challenges to the vote, there's nothing to be gained by pressing it further, and his stoking the flames yesterday has had embarrassing consequences. He didn't stage a coup, but he is directly responsible for motivating the rioting at our capitol.

He's stated that there will be an orderly transition, and I hope he's sincere. The best thing he could do for himself and the country is to just shut up and fade away. He'll be lucky at this point if he can succeed in just doing that.

Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for the handful of things Trump accomplished that I wanted, but I agree with those who say it would be better if he were gone.

So, I got a facebook messenger message from a grade school friend. It seems another friend, who probably blocked me because I haven't seen his posts in years, was in Washington yesterday. The pics on his facebook page only show him and the crowd walking through the streets, but I unfriended him anyway. Then, was reading current posts and a coworker posted a pic of an insurgent standing on the steps inside the Capitol and ... tried to tag him, but his name was clearly there with her asking him what he was doing. I got a screencapture of the pic and his name. If the FBI asks for pics anyone has gathered, I'll send it.

It's only an act of treason and insurrection if they're attempting to overthrow the government. BLM weren't doing that, they were demanding the government change policy.

Now you might have had a point had you limited it to terrorism. But usually terrorism is aimed at the civilian populace to force change. Most BLM activity was aimed squarely at the cops or the authorities.
