I resigned - @T'Bonz and @frontline will back me up on that. I approached and handed the modship over to Awesome Possum (with the agreement of Bonz), she’ll back me up on that too. You’re so wrong on so very many things

One of the many reasons i resigned was i was sick to death of your endless PMs to me trying to get kirk1adm and other low level idiots warned and banned

But I’m the troll, yeah

No. Libertarianism is on the economic axis. Totalitarianism is on the authority axis. Opposite of totalitarianism would be anarchy - which Libertarianism espouses to be, so it can only exist in one quadrant of an authority/economy political graph.

Libertarianism looks good in theory. But, it is the sole reason capitalism ALWAYS turns into an oligarchy. Ayn Rand did not have a clue about human nature and was talking out of her ass.

Libertarianism is on both. It is in many ways close to anarchy. Some have called it "rational anarchy".

To be fair, while most libertarians only consider themselves in their world views, it's also true most of them are not actual fucking neo-nazis.

In context to the statement of which I was responding, it's not. Libertarianism is not the opposite of Totalitarianism. If anything, its one end of the sloping line. The opposite of that, might be what I understand to be Russian or Chinese communism.

I feel like libertarianism was the original “wokeness” of the early Internet. All these young and middle aged white guys would espouse the virtues of it while being oblivious to the real world consequences.

No, the false premise that it sucks. As a philosophy, I don't think it "sucks". I think that like communism, it's great on paper, but in reality it's unworkable because of human nature. This why I say I lean libertarian. I prefer libertarian solutions to most things where I believe they are actually doable and when they are not practical, then I prefer smaller government and States' rights where practical. If none of those solutions are practical then that's when I believe things should be done on a national level.

A friend of mine and I both follow Austrian economics, but he's basically an anarchist. We can talk about economics, but we cannot agree on what form of government, if any, we should have and those discussions turn into me getting frustrated with him and him getting frustrated me. I'm not an anarchist and I think my friend is not being rational at all. I have other friends who are Trump supporters they often get frustrated my libertarian side because frankly, like @oldfella1962 , they've gone too far down the rabbit hole. I'm not a Trump supporter. Some here may see me as a "Trumpanzee" because I might defend some of his policies I happen to agree with and some may call me a libertarian because they think I'm an immature "teenager" who doesn't understand how the world works, but in reality, I'm neither.

And yes, @We Are Borg vs. USS Crazy Horse you're correct that pure libertarianism is for teenagers who don't understand how the world works, but that can apply to any political philosophy in it's purist form. Anyone with any sense at all would realize you can pick and choose what you like about certain philosophies and disregard the rest and you don't have to strictly adhere to one philosophy all your life, you can be flexible, but I know you know that and just say that to troll me. And yes @garamet it's taken me a long time to reconcile my feelings about all of this and my stubbornness has stood in the way of me being able to man up and admit it, but here I am finally expressing my own thoughts on the subject,@Tuckerfan, and not posting a video. I hope you guys are all happy.

If any of that was tl;dr for any of you, I'm sorry, but this is something that I couldn't just sum up in one or two sentences. This is something that's been on my mind for a long time and I needed to get it out.

I don't know the writer of this article's background or qualifications, but his arguments about the flaws of Austrian economics matches what I've come to believe about Austrian economics. This article clearly tries to be even-handed and rather than cherry pick the arguments (which risks distorting it), I'm going to just leave the link and allow anyone who's interested to read it and comment accordingly.

Libertarians are 100% fine with totalitarianism, so long as you replace "complete subservience to the state" with "complete subservience to a handful of corporations." :async:

Deny something that never happened? Easy. Unless you've either got proof or can get @T'Bonz to verify your version, you're just trying to keep your thread on the first page. A more sophisticated troll than your usual smear-and-run, but a troll nevertheless, and no one bit. Sucks to be you.

Damnable thing is, he didn't come across as partisan in any direction when he first got here. Intelligent, able to keep up his end of the discussion, almost mellow. Also willing to share his professional expertise. Then I guess he felt he wasn't getting enough attention, so he resorted to his post-and-run style. As the upper-tier trolls crashed and burned, he felt obligated to fill the vacuum.

Now he's resorting to unsubstantiated allegations to "prove" that I was sending him PMs demanding K1A be banned from TNZ. The irony is that he's coat-tailing on Jenee's spurious claims that I "drove K1A off WF," even though he despises Jenee almost as much as he despises me.

Someone ought to monetize all this. It makes your standard daytime dramas pale by comparison.

I think it has more to do with your reading comprehension and tendencies to put words in other people's mouths. No where did I claim you "drove K1A off WF". I just said I wondered if his issues with you stemmed from the same reasons I have issues with you - you can't read what someone says, so you make shit up deliberately to put the other person on the defense rather than directly address questions to you.

His issues were the same issues he had at TBBS. He expected to toss one of his obscenity-laden cherry bombs into a group of "liberals" to make his cohort piss themselves laughing... and never be challenged. When he was challenged, he simply upped the volume on the obscenities.

His posts are archived. They refute your POV.

What "drove him off the board" was the fact that rep was de-weaponized. He and all the other tighty-righties except Volpone scurried away because they'd lost their favorite toy.

UA, OTOH, stuck around until Anc took over management of the board. His last post was "Oh, fuck me running!" Once he realized Anc hadn't destroyed the board, he had the courage to come back, and welcome.

A suggestion? Check WF history before you go flinging accusations.

As for your "words don't matter" post to @Demiurge in the other thread, well, yeah, that is the crux of the problem.
