Fuck anyone who didn't/hasn't/won't denounce him for the horrible human being he was. Including Ghostecho and Paladin.
Wow, my first post was so fucking awful the server barfed me up. Hey, I am back for the party. Yay, the fat fuck is dead. The world is a better place. AWwwwwww, for all the righties I apologize. I am so sorry I cannot be there in person to drink your salty tears at your hero making the world a better place by getting the fuck out. 2021 is already awesome!
Cry a little harder, the warm fuzzy glow in my heart gets stronger with all your whine. It is like a billion pounds of god awful shit just went silent and evaporated. Oh man, if trump gets jailed and passes and moscow mitch gets offed by a qtard this might just be a great year. Still getting rid of rush just makes things
Limbaugh's rise reflected the decline of radio in the U.S. The elimination of ownership caps led to the rise of Clear Channel and other monster ownership groups that didn't see radio stations as money makers, but assets to be stripped and looted. Every station he was syndicated at meant fewer jobs and less local service. I could write a book...maybe I should...it might be a relief, but I doubt anyone would read it...
Nope. Never bought into TalkRadio. Everything I knew about Rush was what people upthread have revealed. At least we know where Der Drumpfenfuhrer learned that it was cool to mock people with disabilities. Overjoyed? Nah. Somewhat relieved. Also curious which scumbucket will rise up to take his place. I don't keep up on these things. Help me out here.
Tucker Carlson has been molding himself on Limbaugh for years. Even just today, he's been calling Joe and Jill Biden's apparently loving relationship a PR scam to detract from Biden's failing mental state.
You’ve only been asking why isn’t Rush dead yet and questioning the sincerity of his cancer for the past couple of weeks. Rush did push the covid is not that bad or a hoax from the beginning and really should have been taken off the air for that. Then he pushed the election was stolen narrative until cumulus threw the hammer down after the capitol insurrection, but by then it was too late Rush has gotten his message out and there are plenty of others who follow in his footsteps. Michael J. Fox outlives him and has the last word so that’s good.
Still, don't push that hard on the garamet is overjoyed angle -- for the very reasons you point out. It would've been more accurate to say that 'Bick is overjoyed'.
Now, now. According to some folks, we're supposed to keep this thread classy. So stop posting Rush Limbaugh clips.
Remember that time GhostEcho celebrated a ten year old in Ohio being forced to carry their rapist's child and he deleted the post? I 'member. I also can view all deleted posts.
I will be honest: back when Rush first popped up and started getting national attention, I kind of liked him. But as time went on and I heard more, read more, saw more of him I realized what a shitbag he actually was. In essence Rush took Morton Downey Jr.'s schtick and amped it up to eleven. He took small nuggets of fact and wrapped them in huge volumes of bullshit. He more than anyone blazed the trail of right-wing propaganda for the last few decades. So I'm glad the fucker is dead. That said, one must note that Rush and others like him have found huge success in the media marketplace while left-wing versions of the same thing have largely tanked. Fox News was until fairly recently the consistent leader in news ratings, while the leftist version (MSNBC) has been an also-ran that barely makes a dent. Let's remember that Rush first gained significant success in bashing the Clinton administration, while MSNBC has been sort of doing the same thing under Trump. So maybe it depends on whether the administration is D or R as to which of these demagogue types will find success.
Probably because reality has a left-wing bias, and the right inherently rejects reality. The closest analogue on the left was Jon Stewart, but he leaned more into objective facts, versus Rush's MO of twisting colossal amounts of bullshit into his statements. A left-wing political commentator couldn't be as successful as Rush because the left rejects the type of bullshit that Rush was selling, whereas Rush was perfectly targeted at the braindead of society.
Or maybe it ultimately comes down to ad buys. Which is what the My Pillow guy found out the hard way.
No. I think it has more to do with the type of people who would buy into denigrating people for looks and disabilities vs people who truly wish to know facts vs echo chamber propaganda.
Actually Rush was popular before Clinton came around. That 60 minutes video I posted was from 1991 and he had been gaining ground for quite sometime. I think it has more to do with people having a much larger pool of "news" to listen or watch than they use to and choosing sources that they know will confirm their own biases.
