If you would even dare to attack the asshole who claimed the Nazis were lefties, I might listen to you again. As this is not so, I won't. You're gone. I'll just pretend you do not exist, and I believe we have reached the end of our discussion.
Productive? In what manner would that asshole be productive? Producing anything of surplus value? No, I don't see it.
I've always been more in favor of the layaway plan, myself. That leaves a seriously unpleasant image in my head, thank you.
I'll answer this one only to clear up the confusion you seem to cause. No, I don't believe the Nazis were lefties. They were fascists, the extreme right wing, the very thing Joseph Stalin stomped a mudhole in, and for good reason. So I don't agree with @Tererun on that, but then we don't have to always agree on things for me to consider her my friend. Yeah, I'm communist, but I don't center my entire identity around it. It's just one facet of who I am. It's not something I wear as a costume, and aside from when it's relevant, or when I'm making some kind of tongue in cheek joke, I don't really bring it up because: (1) This is the internet. Anyone can be anything here. (2) No one is wrong on the internet. Even if I spent days, weeks, months, trying to convince everyone here communism is the way forward, there's no human connection for them. I'm just words on a monitor hundreds or thousands of miles away. I do my work in meatspace. Being hypercommunist here only invites laughter and dismissal, and for good reason. I know a couple people like you on Twitter, they call themselves "Chairman" this, and "Marxist Thinker" that, and that's fine if it's what they want to be, but I have no interest in that. Right now, most people just want to pay their bills, be around the people they love, have a beer, especially if they're around the people they love, and have some kind of peace. There's always someone who can't work that way. Always someone who has to declare that "you're not a real communist unless..." and the gatekeeping ensues. It's in every ideology. When I was a devout Christian, there were Christians more devout than I. When I was an atheist, there were atheists more true to atheism than I. I'm a witch, I'm sure there are witches who are so much better at being witches than I, but I'm not doing it for them. I believe what I believe because it is the path I'm on, that I have taken, the experiences in my life of living in poverty, of seeing from the bottom up how brutal this system of capitalism truly is, and you can flex and tell people to fear you, or any of that, and it's just smoke. It's all smoke. No one believes you, because they can find a thousand just like you saying the same thing with different words. There's an old expression that goes "everyone is born equal, but most people usually get over it." What you talk about here is nothing new. It's the same old, tired behavior I've seen a million times, and so I can't take you seriously. These folks, they may be convinced, I doubt it, but I've seen you before, with hammers and sickles in their usernames, Lenin and Stalin pictures as their avatars, and they've memorized The Communist Manifesto, but outside of that they're useless for actually meeting the material needs of the people who desperately need them to stop speechifying, and to get down to doing what needs done. Now, you may be different in that you actually do something outside of the internet, but I can only go by how you are here, and from here you're just another blowhard. Don't feel bad about it, we're all blowhards to some degree, or else we'd have never stuck around on Wordforge, but you're not unique in that regard, you're not better than anyone else here, and if you want the mantel of "biggest, best, most awesome true communist around," you can have it. I don't want it. I know who and what I am, and I don't need that kind of validation. Now please stop threatening people to catch you outside.
The only people who say the Nazis were lefties are alt-right trolls, and it’s deliberate obfuscation because they will also say the Nazis were actually the good guys and Hitler did nothing wrong. Just like they will say anti-vaxxers are treated like Jews in Nazi Germany, while also saying the Jews deserved everything they got in the Holocaust (which never happened). The incoherence of their rhetoric is the whole point. This is the sort of argument @Tererun might have been referencing. I don’t believe she meant to seriously propound it.
Again, questionable, and I did specify “in the US”, but 60 years ago, definitely, 50 years ago highly likely, 40 years ago probably, 30 years ago possibly, and questionably since. But there’s definitely still a not-insignificant significant segment of the population that would treat Colin Powell just as poorly as George Floyd based on the color of their skin, and would gladly make that the norm, given the chance. There are definitely geographies within the country where it still is.
Point of order: The feigned ignorance and endless whining are also strategic, and unfortunately highly effective in some situations.
Would he be outside that convenience store after he had ascended to the public position where he was, lording over us for twenty years (or so)? I am talking "prime contradiction" here.
Fine, I might have been seriously stupid. Okay. I will take that cunt's name in my mouth one last time. Tererun is the embodiment of the post-modern left as a cancer.
Almost everyone around here has chosen to take Tereruns stated identity at face value just to be polite, but when I showed her posts to a flesh and blood left-leaning transwoman I know in real life a few years ago, her assessment was basically "That's obviously some alt-right dude that made up a character to discredit trans people and lefties." I mostly just ignore her, but occasionally a nugget of wisdom or an especially good zinger slips out.
I mean, his memoirs say he faced discrimination, so yes? Was he ever shot for being black? No. Having had the luck to be born in Harlem rather than Minneapolis or Montgomery, and having achieved the means to avoid being in the kinds of situations that could have made him into another George Floyd doesn't mean that if he had been in that situation anyway, he wouldn't have become another one. And if George Floyd had been white, it seems extremely unlikely he would have been killed. Btw, screaming "primary contradiction" impresses only yourself.
