He then listed government actions to try to curb inflation, such as capping seniors’ out-of-pocket Medicare expenses and negotiating to lower prescription costs. “That’s long overdue. In addition to that, we’ve released 90 million barrels from the strategic petroleum reserve, that’s what’s taken about $1.30 off the price of a gallon of gas,” he said. “That’s a big help. We’ve got to do more to keep that price from going back up and keep it coming down.”
I don't think your idea of what constitutes your civic duty is the same as what your civic duty actually is. How we'd detect it would be tricky, as the before and after states would be pretty similar except for the posting.
got to the polling place about 10:30, I was lucky voter #100 and the 2,299th protected voter in the system, whatever that was about KJ went in to vote later and stood in line behind a guy in at least his 40s who had never voted before
Running list of Republican attempts to get valid ballots cast by legal voters thrown in the trash: Michigan -- the Trumper candidate for Secretary of State asked a judge to toss thousands of absentee ballots in Detroit (and only Detroit) using logic so flimsy that she was basically laughed out of court. https://www.wonkette.com/court-toss...t-by-woman-who-wants-to-be-in-charge-of-votes Pennsylvania -- Republicans are suing to prevent ballots received by local election officials before Election Day from being counted if they don't have a date on them. https://www.wonkette.com/pennsylvan...nting-ballots-before-they-re-allowed-to-start
Because the purpose of dating is to prove that they were cast before the election, and they were received before the election.
I know. If they don’t have a date on them, then they could be fraudulent because someone could have filled out the ballot before they were legally allowed to.
Huh? Once you receive your absentee ballot, you're allowed to fill it out. You're not required to wait until some magical date. Seriously, are you that desperate to suck Republican cock that you're willing to come up with an excuse that stupid?
No, because that's after Election Day, and Pennsylvania law states that ballots must be received by Election Day.
Breaking this down further for the reality-impaired: Studies show that approximately 0% of Pennsylvania voters possess the ability to slingshot around the sun at Warp Speed and travel back in time. Therefore, if a ballot is received by election officials before Election Day, it was cast before Election Day.
I've seen numerous sources referring to Maura Healey as Massachusetts' first female governor. She's the first woman to be elected governor, but Lt. Gov. Jane Swift served as governor after Paul Cellucci became Bush's ambassador to Canada. (I think there's some nebulousness around whether a Massachusetts lieutenant governor who takes over the office is technically considered a governor or an acting governor, but still...)
Beasley/Budd in North Carolina is looking interesting. Steve Kornacki running through those numbers now.
For lunch today, I went to a brewery. They serve food there, and have about 18 or so craft beers to choose from. I had wings with fries, along with 4 beers, all of the beer were 6-7 ounces. At this brewery, instead of having the beers come in 12 or 16 once pours, you can pour your own amount of of the taps. They charge by the ounce. I've been there several times, today was the first time I got cut off by the system. It automatically cuts you off after 32 ounces. The reason I was cut off was that I took my mom along. She had 3 beers, each was between 6 and 7 ounces. This was over an hour and a half. When I do go out and have beers, I'll limit myself to 2 beers every 90 minutes or so. Last time I was drunk, as in drunk where I knew I was drunk was back in March or so. Went to a restaurant/bar that has a separate club type area in the back, this was in the Myrtle Beach area. I had several beers, three or four margaritas, and a couple of Long Islands. Started around 8ish, went back to the Airbnb around one in the morning. Made it back just fine, never felt that I was being unsafe. The reason being, the place was about a two minute walk from the Airbnb. If I was driving, I would never had that many drinks, or if I did, I would have taken an Uber. Sometimes it sucks they I always end up being the designated driver, but at least I know I'm safe to drive.
