republicans better take note, especially elon musk who seems to think verification is about money and not truth.
So far it appears this is going to be another high turnout, by American standards, election. Even though TFG isn’t on the ballot people are voting early. The polling is getting a bit garbled at this point. Take Mark Kelly for instance, he has been on top for many months, yet to hear the Republican media spin it he is definitely losing and has to “catch up.” RCP is openly advocating a model which assumes the polls are 4+ points skewed against Republicans. OK, then let’s buckle up.
There's probably an interesting study in how "just assuming that all polls are biased against Republicans" went from being a fringe piece of wishful thinking in 2012 to an article of faith accepted by the mainstream media and lots of people who should know better. The "unskewing" movement started with Romney supporters looking at the polls and going "those can't possibly be right, 'cause nobody I know is voting for Obama!" They dug into the crosstabs, found that many polls included more Democrats than Republicans, and assumed this meant Democrats were being oversampled. Dean Chambers then hilariously went looking for the poll with the most Republicans in it, declared that to be the objectively correct proportion, and re-weighted every other poll to match those numbers. Spoiler alert: the reason most polls included more Democrats than Republicans is that there actually were more Democrats than Republicans in the electorate. Then after 2016, everybody just went "welp, I guess polls are always biased against Republicans," uncritically adopted that narrative, and continued to do so even when 2018 and the 2021 Georgia runoff indicated that, in any election where Donald Trump isn't on the ballot to motivate his cult of uniquely trashy people to vote, polling is actually getting pretty damn accurate.
Pro war Democrats keep getting called out. This time it's AOC. She was called a coward and the protester says that Tulsi Gabbard has shown guts.
When did "hey, maybe we shouldn't let democratic nations get invaded by autocratic dictators and not lift a finger to help them" become "pro-war"?
If you're not for preventing nuclear war and suing for peace, that means you want the war to continue. Therefore you're pro war.
If you vote for this literal hillbilly buffoon it just proves you're mentally defective. https://twitter.com/abughazalehkat/status/1588324471399624705?s=20&t=6DLswkrZ9xRqgx634wQi9g

Chamberlain also was attempting to buy the UK time to build up their military so that they could defeat Germany. What do you suggest folks do to prepare for Putin’s inevitable invasion into another country if Ukraine surrenders now?
If you think that Russia are crazy enough to escalate to nukes over this then appeasement won't help, because Putin will keep on stretching further and further, much as this invasion built off the invasion of Crimea.
And how do you propose Russia will accept a ceasefire when Putin's been hellbent on grabbing as much of Ukraine as possible?
Ukraine ceding some of the land Putin wants. Adhering to the Minsk agreement like they were supposed to do in 2014, but didn’t.
Ukraine is under no obligation to cede its sovereign territories, and as far as the Minsk agreement goes, Putin declared them void, so that's irrelevant now.
Try thinking instead of "feeling." Kyiv is a far older city than Moscow. In fact, people from Kyiv founded Moscow. (Over 800 years ago.) Historically speaking, Russia's claims to Ukraine are relatively recent. Russia took control of large parts of Ukraine in the 17th Century, or about 100 years after Spain laid claim to Florida, and about 200 years before the US took control of Florida from Spain. Native Americans have been living in Florida for about 14K years. Both Spain and Native Americans have a far greater claim to Florida than the United States does (it having taken control of Florida in 1819, and Florida not being recognized as a state until 1845). So Spain and Native Americans have a greater claim to owning Florida than Russia does Ukraine. You cool with either of those groups taking Florida back by force?
