Star Wars, from the beginning, has a lot of basic elements that are basically magic - BEFORE you get to mystical stuff like The Force and Mortis Gods and whatever.

Gravity, for example. As far as I can tell it's never been explained how all those flying vehicles defy gravity...they just...DO. Accept it. Move on. I would say it's like gravity isn't a thing, but most people don't float off of the ground .
